This beer has a light refreshing body as well as enough hops to satisfy the IPA lover. Beautifuly brewed. Four or five pints of 5 Barrel might start a love affair with this beer. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 26, 2006 Nice llooking clear amber under a nice white head that sows some very nice lacing, and a head tht subsides to a tfine white layer in a few minutes. Based on the descritptio, I was expecting a biggerhop aroma, but there is only some subtle piney and spicey notes. Body is a little light, but not excessively so. Flavoe is alittle one dimensional with a caramel malt base and some accents of light citrus hops. Dry, thirst quenching finish. KUEric (632), Chevy Chase, Maryland, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Feb 16, 2006 12 oz bottle: Pours an orange color with a thick creamy and frothy off-white head that sticks around for a majority of the beer. The aroma is mainly of hops with some undertones of citrus, bread, honey, pine, and a tiny bit of sweet sugary maltiness. The taste isn’t what I was expecting after the aroma. It is thinner of a palate and a bit watered down. Although that may be the case about the mouthfeel the flavors are quite good, just light. They include: some (though not as much as aroma and description lead you to belive) hops, bread dough, lemons, flowers, and a strange ending taste, that I didn’t particularly care for, not sure how to describe it, maybe like pine sol (I’m not that expereinced with hops, but maybe its the dry hopping flavor). csbosox (1082), Prairie Village, Kansas, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Feb 13, 2006 12oz bottle. 03/03/06. Served in a NB worthy snifter. Dark orange/gold color with a small, off white head. The aroma is wildflower honey, citrus (orange, tangerine, pineapple) and some vanilla. Smells great. The initial flavor is sweet malt and citrus followed by some piney and floral, mild to moderately bitter hops and a pleasant, lingering aftertaste. This is a very tasty beer. Great example of dry hopping flavor. I do wonder about the "english pale ale" categorization... kramer (2515), Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 10, 2006 12 oz bottle, via beerhandy I think. Pours a dark copper with a fluffy beige head. Clear with minimal visible carbonation. Nice soft floral hop aroma over a lightly malty base. Not an extremely potent aroma, but very clean. Hops are definately in the fore, but the finish is very metallic. Minimal malt presance noted. Very lively carbonation, lighter bodied, and fairly refreshing. I’m thinking that the metallic taste may just be due to the variety of hops (I’m thinking Cascades), but there is no mention of varieties used on the label. Eithe way, not especially enjoyable. ipaordie (4), USA does not count | 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/20 | Feb 7, 2006 Not bad, but not one to remember or seek out. The label indicates a hoppy flavor, but I didn’t taste much...at all. Opaque appearance with no particulates, slightly fruity taste, but needs a little more puch -- MORE HOPS would do the trick. Golden-to-orange in color. Nice packaging.

I think it is alot like Sierra Nevada Pale, but more hop bite. All around balanced with a nice amount of sweetness, hoppiness, bitterness, and smoothness. rickgordon (3331), Göteborg, Sweden

Golden colour, slight hazy. Big hoppy nose with hints of diacetyl. Fruity flavour, smooth body. Bit dry and pale malty. Hops are there from start to finish. Good but not overwhelming.
