Commercial Description:
Care for some hops with your hops? Before we ferment our 5 Barrel Pale Ale, we strain it through a bed of 'em. Then while it ages, we add even more. We like how this gives the beer a fresh, lively finish. We like hops.

As we go about refining the recipe for each new beer, we brew up just five barrels at a time. That's exactly how we arrived at this pale ale -- so that's what we named it. Plus, it sounded a lot nicer than Giant Vat Pale Ale.

This could be the palest, most boring, most unsatisfying pale ale I’ve had in years. Tastes and smells like... nothing. Stale paper at least has that musty and dry-flakey oxidized smell, this basically smells like a glass of water and a drop of apple juice. Medium to light body, decent frothiness given the thickness, but again it just tastes like air. What gives?

12oz bottle. Pours a yellow amber with a white 1 finger head. Aromas of caramel matliness and hops. Flavors are a balance between the hops and malts. decent brew but kind of boring.

Bottle at ILL V MINN tailgate party. Pours amber with a white head. Faint aroma of wet grains and mild hops. Lighter side of medium bodied with a thin British like texture. Flavor of caramel, nuts, and toasty grains countered by a moderate herbal hop bitterness. Decent job of representing true British character. Good

Hazy amber with a rocky off-white topper, slowly fading. Aroma of floral and grassy hops, grain and caramel. Taste of mild hops, grain, earthy and grassy hops. Finishes dry and mildly bitter, not terribly hoppy.

Bottle at GBBF with the shack of disco party dance boyz. Alround rating: Decent balanced pale ale, caramalt character, earthy citrus hop, pepperyness too. Good stuff.

Light amber pour with white head. Light hoppy nose with some bread notes. Flavor has a quick punch of hops that is soon balanced with malt. Body is medium with a crisp finish.

Bottle. Hazy amber color. good white head. Aroma is very notable with strong floral hops and sweet bread. Tasted predominately of sweet malt with the very fruity hops. Can almost taste banana? The hop flavor isn’t bitter and floral like most american style pale ales. Interesting, nothing too special though, probably wouldn’t recommend it.

Bottle from GBBF 08. Amber, thin beige head. A little bit of acidic nettle? Not a great pale ale, some toffeeish malt, but I’m not a big fan of these acidic nettle hop beers. Bit dull.
