Commercial Description:
Care for some hops with your hops? Before we ferment our 5 Barrel Pale Ale, we strain it through a bed of 'em. Then while it ages, we add even more. We like how this gives the beer a fresh, lively finish. We like hops.

As we go about refining the recipe for each new beer, we brew up just five barrels at a time. That's exactly how we arrived at this pale ale -- so that's what we named it. Plus, it sounded a lot nicer than Giant Vat Pale Ale.

Bottle pours a clear golden beer with a thin head. Aroma is sweet malt. Flavor is sweet grassy malt taste with a stong finish. Bitter end, not dry. Pretty good

Bottled: brought back from out West, probably could have gotten a better on though. Pours gold color that has a white head that disappears into a white lacing. Somewhat bitter in taste with somewhat of an aftertaste of rotten fruit. Didnt really enjoy it.

A Mes rate: Bottle at GBBF.
A very attractive golden amber colour with a good off white head and an excellent snowstorm when swilled. Very sweet malty aroma with rather a lot of alcohol showing. Wheaty and rather dull. Reasonable malt and hop balance and a delicate bitter finish.

Bottle at home (one of my 60 bottle GBBF haul :-)) ... nice copper ... odd something and a little hop ... little sweet mellow fruit ... floral hops ... decent balance but like maeib says nothing special

Bottle, pours a murky tan light brown color with a tan head, that fades quickly. Light hop aroma, slightly fruity sweetness, mild hops rather floral. Its not bad a for an english style pale ale its pretty good.

Pours a very lightly hazy, but mostly clear amber with a nice lasting whitish head. Smell is mildly hoppy with some light malt. Pleasant fruitiness to the hops. Taste is moderately fruity, lightly sweet and hoppy with a lingering light bitterness. Very nice, and sessionable with a good amount of flavor without being overpowering at all and a medium body. Nice beer.

Bottled - GBBF2008. A light amber coloured beer with a nice full hoppy aroma. Good balance of malt and hop in the mouth. Nothing spectacular but pretty solid and tasty.Score 3.4

Pours an amber color with a good size that never fades away. Really smooth beer, one that is definitely on my "Drink Again" list!
