Strong hints of English influence well basic malt with hints of roasted and chocolate malts. The taste is to par with a full body flavor and blends well together. Not overpowering malts that an English Ale would have and not a strong nut flavor such as Nut Brown ales would have. The mouthful flavor leaves hints of toffee and a sort of twig-esk flavor. Slightly bready but a nice overall balance. Very easy to drink. elmatador00 (518), j-action-ville, North Carolina, USA

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jan 10, 2008 For whatever reason, I bought this in a make your own six pack sometime last year. Opened it today for no reason. And all that no reason, whatever reason transfers to the beer. Pretty basic. Nothing special for a scotch ale, though not a favorite style, or anything else this might claim to be. Not my top Odell. BlackForestCO (828), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA

Poured a nice deep amber color with a decent off-white head that left good lacing. Aroma of sweet smoke and nuts. Nice, interesting taste that is dominated by a smoked peat flavor with nice nuttiness and a bit of roastiness in the finish. Smooth and easy to drink. Nice. jah noth (1020), Rochester, New York, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 5, 2008 Faint aroma of caramel apple. Nice amber in color with a thick, rocky head. Lots of munich malts mingle with light caramel, a pinch of chocolate and a nice beat of peat smokiness. Some English hoppiness mixes with the toffee. Rather meaty yet quaffable. I rather like it. Thanks Brad.
