Lots of munich malts mingle with light caramel, a pinch of chocolate and a nice beat of peat smokiness. Some English hoppiness mixes with the toffee. Rather meaty yet quaffable. I rather like it. | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 2, 2008 Tap @ Steamboat. Nothing really special in the glass. If you had 100 beers at a tasting, this is one you’d surely forget. Scottish Ale? American amber. Caramel color with a short-lived head. Taste is a very modest amout of malt and hops. Finish is short and dry. Much better out there.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 24, 2007 Nice brown color, moderate off-white head. Aroma is primarily malty and yeasty. Flavor is smooth malts...some hops in the background give it the necessary amount of bitterness to make it balanced. Moderate to high level of carbonation and very easy to drink. This beer may well be in the top 5 sessionable beers out there... tjthresh (1780), Greenfield, Indiana, USA

The pour is copper brown with a decent white head and some lacing.
The aroma is clean toasted malts, with a bit of earthy herbal hops.
The malt flavor is toasted, buttery, smokey, and a tad sweet. Long bitter finish.
Medium/light body. High carbonation. Dry finish.
Easy to drink. Good beer.

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Dec 9, 2007 Pours a nice looking copper-amber color, thin head, lots of lacing. Citrus and malt aroma. Very well balanced with some sweet malts, a bit of caramel and enough hops to add just a hint of bitterness. I enjoyed this on draught in Denver and brought a sixer back home with me. Another winner from Odell. bbbrew (183), Washington DC, USA

| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Nov 18, 2007 Had this beer on 1/22/1998. Color is medium golden brown, carbination is low with little head. Aroma has a sugary sweet smell that reminds me a little of wine. Taste is smooth but a little watery. It starts off crisp with a light body and sweet flavor. finish is clean with no hop taste at all. I remember this beer being better than this, the bottling date on this bottle is 10/01/97 making it almost four months old which may be the reason this one is not as good as I remember. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 2, 2007 Good head and good deep tan color. Aroma yeasty with almost a floral scent. Flavor good hops, citrusy with a slight toast. Well rounded on the palate. This was good with sirloin and steamed vegetables.
