Decent ale. Nothing spectacular, but nothing to stick your nose up at. I would drink it again. Sweetness came out more as I got further into the beer. Nice aftertaste.

Bottle. This looked pretty darn good when I poured it. Disappointing beer though. Light caramel malt and toffee flavors as well as some hops lurking around, but this was thin and somewhat metallic tasting. Thanks for the bottle, Dad.

Poured a hazy light brown with thick two fingers of head. The nose was of caramel, toffee, chocolate with a slight burnt aroma. The taste started with chocolate, tofee and raisin. Later came a strong caramel presence with an earthy hop bite. There were also notes of dark fruits and it was a bit bready at times. The finish was creamy with light hop bitters. The feel was medium to light. This was pretty tasty and goes down well. It’s not much of a Scotish Ale, it seems more like a robust Amber initially, then takes on some quasi-Scottish/Pale Ale feel. It’s pretty good, no matter what style you may end up setteling on.

Light reddish brown, moderate head with solid lacing and retention. Aroma is caramel, toast, wood, a touch of hops. Medium to light body, lightly sweet finish. Arguably the best of the bunch I’ve had.

This is from memory, so I don’t have much in the way of detail, but this was a good, malty, farily heavy beer. A nice thick taste of dark fruits. However, be warned: let this beer warm up a little before you drink it. I was drinking out of an ice chest, and the first third of the bottle was very, very bitter and hoppy. Once it warmed up a little bit, the hoppiness mellowed out and the malt started coming to the fore. I liked this beer much more after that, and would buy it again.

12 oz. bottle. Maybe I’m just a sucker for this style. Bright, but dense brown body, good-sized brown head. Presents a fine Scots malt smell. Taste is up front caramel and dried plums, with a suggestion of smoked jerky. Some whiskey malt in the backbone. English hops slide along the tongue. Lightly sticky. It may be light in alcohol, but a hearty brew nonetheless – good for rainy days and fall evening.

Bottle: The aroma is rather light with some caramel, fruit, and faint floral notes. It’s a transparent brownish-red with a small soapy off-white head. The flavor starts with some watery caramel. The finish has some light fruit and faint floral and earthy bitterness. Thin watery mouthfeel with light carbonation.

Was expecting more from a scottish ale, not much character to this one, Actually bitterness dominates, drinkable, just abit plain though, Malt isn’t even really there. Thanks to my pal Duane for the brew.
