| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Jun 11, 2007 Clear amber body with a very small beige head. Generic malt caramel with almost no hop flavour. Medium sweetness. Medium carbonation. I really don’t have much else to say about it. This is a boring beer even by the style standard which is not exciting to start with. A little meaty (foie gras?) in the finish. Like the Shilling itself this beer should be retired. robinvboyer (1429), Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, Canada

dark ruby color, thin beige head, good lacing. Very nice malty aroma, and also hoppy aroma. Flavour is incredibly balanced. This isn’t spectacular, but a perfect session beer! egajdzis (3625), Spring Mount, Pennsylvania, USA

Aroma of caramel malts, nuts, light chocolate, and roast as well. Taste of caramel malts, light chocolate, nuts, and light citrus as well. Miguel (1181), Saint-Ours, Quebec, Canada

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | May 21, 2007 Picked this up at Hy-Vee, let it sit for a couple of months and poured it into an english pint. Has a hazy amber color with a 1 finger tan head. Floral hops immediate come out when pouring, followed by fresh grass and chocolate. Weak cohcolate milk (more milk than syrup), pine, light citrus, and a floral bitterness on the taste. Aftertaste of cereal malt, floral hops, and chocolate. A smooth medium palate and very light carbonation, almost as if it had been hand-drawn into the bottle. A delightful blend of sweet maltiness and light bitter hoppiness. The palate was easily my favorite part and really made this a great beer for me. FlagstoneHill (211), Erie, Colorado, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 8, 2007 Bottle. Amberish copper color. Taste the malt right away, with a nice touch of hops. Sweet, caramel taste is there too. I was quite surprised by this one as I normally am so so with Scottish Ale. smhncabot (310), Cabot, Arkansas, USA
