Smell of hops, smoke, leather, light malt, wheat, carmel, hints of chocolate and some nuts. Taste of hops, sweet malt, toffe, caramel, leather, cigarette smoke, sugar, coco beans, nuts and a nice sweet balanced bitterness at the end. Nice and smooth! Great beer. dwyerpg (2553), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Oct 13, 2006 12 oz bottle, via PhillyBeer2112, I believe. Pours a clear dark copper colored body under a fizzy and foamy one finger white head that left nice lacing. Aroma is full of syrupy malt with a little toffee, and light notes of tobacco and alcohol. Flavor is all malt. Toffee, nuttiness, toasted malts up front fading to a dryish toasted grainy finish. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with moderate fizzy carbonation. Texture is just shy of syrupy and gets a little sticky on the finish. Overall, this was decent, but no aspect of it really stood out.
