Commercial Description:
Richer than most amber ales, 90 Shilling is smooth & deeply satisfying, with a crisp, clean Colorado taste. The name comes from the old Scottish method of naming a brewery's beer, based on original gravity and resulting tax rating.

Thanks to my buddy "DUKE", who lives in Denver. Redish amber color. Smell of hops, smoke, leather, light malt, wheat, carmel, hints of chocolate and some nuts. Taste of hops, sweet malt, toffe, caramel, leather, cigarette smoke, sugar, coco beans, nuts and a nice sweet balanced bitterness at the end. Nice and smooth! Great beer.

Not a lot of aroma, but this is a really good beer. A nice pleasant grainy malt character. Had a little too cold and is a bit too thin, but still a pretty decent beer. Available at the Ft. Collins airport!!

12oz bottle. Poured a medium orange color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of caramel and I was getting an earthy / woodiness. Tastes of caramel, nuts, and toasted malts.

Bottled - red/brown in appearance. Fruit and malt in the aroma. Flavor is slightly peaty with some nice hop bitterness. Very smooth. A decent 90/.

12 oz bottle, via PhillyBeer2112, I believe. Pours a clear dark copper colored body under a fizzy and foamy one finger white head that left nice lacing. Aroma is full of syrupy malt with a little toffee, and light notes of tobacco and alcohol. Flavor is all malt. Toffee, nuttiness, toasted malts up front fading to a dryish toasted grainy finish. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with moderate fizzy carbonation. Texture is just shy of syrupy and gets a little sticky on the finish. Overall, this was decent, but no aspect of it really stood out.
