Commercial Description:
Richer than most amber ales, 90 Shilling is smooth & deeply satisfying, with a crisp, clean Colorado taste. The name comes from the old Scottish method of naming a brewery's beer, based on original gravity and resulting tax rating.

Bottled. Nut brown, small head. Sweet and softly malty. Plenty of butter, toffee and chocolate as well as notes of peach. Low hop rate gives the gentle malt flavours room to excel. I loved it!

Caramel, malt, slight bitterness are the main flavors. I found it somewhat uneventful for the palate, but still enjoyable. I think I just expected more.

Firm, flavorful, verging on the harsh. But for a fine brew to soak your system in, richly find this Rocky Mts. delight. (If you use "Mts" not "Mt", you can defy the branding by Pete Coors)

Bottle poured a clear copper with a longlasting amber head. Aromas of carmel and butterscotch. Palate was smooth and creamy. Flavors of carmel and brownsugar.

Pours amber with some small malts in the nose, nice off-white head. Flavor is of mild caramel with that amber ale ascerbic note towards the end, mildly bitter. No smoky or toasted flavors here. Tastes like run of the mill amber or copper ale to me.

I never had a chance to drink this out of anything but the bottle, but it had a very nice caramel, brown sugar flavor that mixed well with the malt.
