Commercial Description:
Aged for four months in bourbon barrels from the Buffalo Trace distillery in Kentucky, the Bourbon Barrel Stout is a robust yet balanced beer. Roasted malts give it a chocolate and coffee overtone, and the oak creates hints of vanilla and caramel. At 10.5% ABV, this stout pairs well with smokey barbeque sauce or even rich desserts.

Bottle 75cl. @ post Borefts BF 09 hotel tasting
Clear dark brown color with average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is light heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, wood, bourbon. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20091031]

Vanilla, bourbon, and cocoa waft from the cork as the beer pours from the bottle. Dark mahogany pour with latte head...just a bit too much sunlight passing through this one to rate it above a three in appearance. Nice sticky lacing, however. Flavor shows tons of brown sugar, dark roasted coffee, chocolate, and honey. Too thin to be taken seriously as a top-tier stout but tasty non-the-less.

Bottle Thanks Sam. Pours out a dark brown almost black topped with a tan head. Aroma was of bourbon, oak, chcolate and light roast. Taste was much of the aroma lots of bourbon I think a little time would help this one out. It still have all of the vanilla, coffee, and chcolate so it was still very drinkable.

750ml bottle. Good bourbon smoothing aroma on the nose. Also some vanlia pipe tobacco. Black body with tan head. First sample of this brew thought was little thicker in body texture. Mediunm bodied with some chocolate and mostly bourbon vanila and sweet caramel. Smooth on palate but will need an asprin before bed or will most likely have a headace from alcohol when I wake up.

Thanks to the Tampa Crew for sharing this one. Pours Imperial Stout brown with a tan head. Nose is bourbon, chocolate, booze, dark fruit, vanilla, and a marshmallowy sweetness. Flavor is similar with chocolate, coconut, bourbon, minimal booze, vanilla, and caramel. This beer has great balance for the ABV, body, and style. A new classic, and definitely worthy of the ranks of Dark Lord, Darkness, etc.

Bottle at post Borefts BF 09 tasting. Black with bourbon on aroma. Some vanilla, ok, some malt character. Some sweetness from bourbon. For a bourbon barrel aged beer, not bad. Still too much though especially the heat on the end.
