Odell Buffalo Bourbon Stout

Had this brew at G.A.B.F. 08’’. Aroma is a deep roasted scent. Color is near black with low carbonation and a thin tight tan head. It starts with a full body that goes down rich and smooth. Finish is just amazing coming in with a deep rich roasted flavor that has a sweet dried fruit taste then some oak and bourbon flavors on the end. After taste has a hint of chocolate. This is a fabulous brew I hope they bottle it.

Tap. Moderate aromas all around. Toasted and mild coffee for the malt, resin for th hops, earth for the yeast and background notes of port wine, bourbon and dark dried fruits. Head is creamy, light brown, has excellent lacing and is fully lasting. Color is black. Flavor is moderately sweet and lightly acidic, then finishes lightly bittersweet and acidic. Palate is medium to full, syrupy, has a soft carbonation, and finishes lightly alcoholic and sticky. An awesome Imperial Stout, excellent mellow flavor and feel.

Unique, took one sip to hook me and a clean finish to make me want to marry it. Loved talking with the tour guide about their trial and error process specific to this brew

On tap @ AZ Strong Beer Festival. This one was surprisingly indicative of GIBCS!!! The nice thing was this was quite as viscous, pungent, or aggressive. Dark mahogany pour bordering black with a small cola ring. Heavy bourbon, bitter chocolate, and roasted coffee. S’mores in a glass.

On tap in tasteing room. Black with a thin tan head. Smells slightly malty and woody. Taste is sweet and a nice smooth bourbon finish.

cask at the brewery. pours black with a strong barrel/booze nose. barrel is apparent in the flavor with some light vanilla that complements the base beer well. the alcohol warms in this but does not bite. really a nice beer, chocolate w/ a light raisin note. surprisingly smoother and more gentle on my palate than the base beer was. one of the good barrel beers that complements with bourbon flavor instead of dominating.

Draft @ GABF ’08. Pours a black with a dectn tn head. Aroma of whiskey, vanilla, chocolte, and coffee. Taste of the same with some oak and more bourbon flavvors thrown in. This full bodied brew is actually fabulous. Well balanced and quite drinkable. Bottle this.

On tap at the AZ Strong Beer fest. Pours pitch black with a minimal tan head. The nose is bourbon mainly with some coffee. The taste is cocoa, burnt malt, chocolate and bourbon in the finish. Medium creamy body. Very good.
