Malty cotton candy aroma with a citrusy hoppiness. Medium bodied and well balanced with caramel and spicy hop flavors, grapefruit, cloves. Tastefully done and definitely worth having more than one of. jgb9348 (2511), Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Aug 16, 2003 Amber colour with a creamy slightly tan head. A bit of hops in the smell, but oddly enough, more malt dominates. The taste is of english hops with a bit of malt to decorate. Almost no palate...a bit of hop drying, but not much. Overall a sub-par english pale. Glad to have the experience to try it, but sorry that it wasn't stellar! Brewed on 24-March-2003. I bought this 12 ounce bottle from Total Beverage in Thornton (Denver), Colorado. legion242 (1586), Richardson, Texas, USA

Nice juicy hop flavor and a dryish finish that leaves me craving more. TAR (2095), Boulder Co., Colorado, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 4, 2003 Pale almond. Thin sticky ring of foam. Dry-hopped, but very well balanced aroma of jellied malts, juicy hops, pine sap, spruce, and caramel. Underlying herbal notes teamed with diacetyl and must. Smooth, fuzzy carbonation. Round mouthfeel. Sweet malts are balanced by faint bitterness, light acidity, caramel, tropical fruit, subtle spicy hops, candied white grape, and pine sap. Jellied malt flavors linger alongside hop oil and a zippy pine note. Extremely well balanced in every aspect. And what a wonderfully soft, round mouthfeel. Hands down among the best Pale Ales, if you can appreciate its subtleties. bluemeow76 (693), Lewis Center, Ohio, USA

Pours a dark orange-amber color with a medium and quickly dissipating off-white head. Aroma of hops, citrus, and bread. Flavor is mostly hops with a definite malt presence, along with some toasted notes. Finish is good and rich. Good representation of the style.
