Head is initially small, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing. Body is medium amber. Aroma is moderately malty (cookie, toasted bread), moderately hoppy (flowers, apricot, grapefruit), lightly yeasty (cobwebs, dough). Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Nice quaffing ale.

Pretty good pale ale. Very malty smell...almost like a stronger lager. Warm in the mouth with a sweet barley accent. Finishes with a smidgeon of hops and a dry, somewhat watery goodbye. Interesting grassy taste. Very, in fact too much, understated.

it’s a couple months past it’s peak according to the tiny braille label perforations that pass for a freshness date, so i gotta let out a little slack for an apparent lawn-bag kind of organic richness to the aroma. peanuts, wet rust and sodden tree bark constituents are noteable. yet the appearance bespoke vitality: a good thick, corn husk golden amber with a creamy bodacious head and slow sheets of lace as intricate as turkish tapestry. tasty, and balanced, good carbonation with pizza crust toasty pale malts on equal footing with hops--which is to say understated hops for a western american pale. lousy aroma, beautiful appearance, fairly good taste. add that slack i agreed to figure in to compensate for the infirmities of age, and i think you’ve got a decent apa.

Not the most interesting pale ale in the world but I am not hard to please with this style. Pleasant aftertaste and smooth, smooth, smooth.

British styled. Acloudy orange colour with intense rocky white head (borderline overcarbed). Bready aroma with mild hops. Flavour is hoppy at first with adequate caramel/toffee malt character underneath. The good balance actually works to this beers detriment since everything blends together and gets lost.

Orange-amber in color. Medium sized head settled to just a skim shortly after pouring. Aroma is pleasently hoppy with some caramel and a hint of citrus. Taste is a bit stronger than I was lead to believe by this APA’s aroma, not a bad thing, just a little surprising. It’s really more like an IPA in flavor and bitterness, but I was pretty impressed with this one overall.

Nice light cream head above a hazy orange-amber body with very tiny, slow rising bubbles. The aroma is sweetly malty with almost a vanilla characteristic. Light hops. The mouthfeel is very smooth, creamy and lightly carbonated - very English in nature. The flavor is that of a round, gently caramel-tinged malt with a gentle ’metallic’ bite from the Fuggles hops. The bitterness is ever present in the background, never taking center stage, and never receeding... leaving a dry, memorable finish that makes you want more. This reminds me of their 90 Shilling and I wonder if there’s some Munich or Vienna malt in here as well? This is one beer that I’d REALLY like to try cask conditioned!

Nice amber color with a moderate, quickly fading, rocky head. Aroma of old orange peels. Slightly oxidized sample (even though bottled 042602). Flavors are quite well balance. I would prefer a bit more malt flavor - it seem to be to far in the background. Finishes quite dry and acidic.
