(bottled 6-10-04) Sparkling amber body topped by medium off-white head. Aroma is lemon, earthy, light grapefruit. Taste is medium sweet, lemon, grapefruit, earthy, caramel, light pine. Light-medium body. The lemon is too strong for the style or with the combination of the other flavors.

Filtered amber appearance, but the foamy white head is still there an hour after opening. Not impressed with the first taste, but it becomes more interesting after a while, when the carbonation level becomes pretty low, reminding of a cask ale. The aroma is of grainy and earthy malts paired with earthy and orangey hops. Not quite biscuity, but let’s call is a bit bready with a sweet undertone. Good balance. More floral and grapefruit character shines through in mouth over a lightly buttery note that somehow fits at that low level. Honest bitterness weight. Nothing extraordinary, but well brewer and highly drinkable. At the same time, the texture is pretty silky once the carbonation starts to diminish, creamy and medium bodied.

Aroma is a light pine and lemon, but this one has the overwhelming flavor of peanuts. The finish is full of peanuts as well. Good solid body with a caramel and burnt nut flavor.... sorry, I just can’t get over the peanuts.

Nice amber color with a moderate, quickly fading, rocky head. Aroma of old orange peels. Slightly oxidized sample (even though bottled 042602). Flavors are quite well balance. I would prefer a bit more malt flavor - it seem to be to far in the background. Finishes quite dry and acidic.

Head is initially small, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing. Body is medium amber. Aroma is moderately malty (cookie, toasted bread), moderately hoppy (flowers, apricot, grapefruit), lightly yeasty (cobwebs, dough). Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Nice quaffing ale.

Thin white head. Body is a deep gold and orange with lots of bubbles. Aroma is oranges and bread crust. Also a hint of flowers. The taste is a full malty bread. A hint of rotten oranges and some pepper spice. Also some dirt. Fairly light bodied.

Draught. Pours amber with a rocky off-white film and blotchy spotty lacing. Fruit hop floral aroma with nutty caramel malt and a pine nose. Bitter acidic hop and caramel malt (meal) flavor. Medium bodied and creamy palate.

Acquired via trade. Pours a dark orange-amber color with a medium and quickly dissipating off-white head. Aroma of hops, citrus, and bread. Flavor is mostly hops with a definite malt presence, along with some toasted notes. Finish is good and rich. Good representation of the style.
