The aroma is hoppy for a porter with some sweetness too. The taste is milky and creamy. Hoppy and with roasted malts. A bit too chewy but decent enough. hughie (3066), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England

Ashy aroma and slightly sour taste with Chocolate rather than coffee. Mid bitter. Seemed a bit rough at the first sip, but it’s very, very good. Thank you to the kind friend who shared this. Dark brown, tight beige head. Almost a bacony aroma as I poured it. However, the main aroma is different, more a soft sweet very richly roasted grain, a little bit of coffee. Perhaps a little understated, but maybe I served it too cold? Pleasant refreshing carbonation. Initial fairly burnt malt taste, some tangy edges which are neither specifically hoppy, nor burnt. Long dry burnt finish at the back of the mouth. On the stout side of porter, but still with a refreshing non-cloyey body. No obvious flaws, great combination of the burnt bite and the refreshingness. Wanted a bigger bottle! KimJohansen (7124), Copenhagen V, Denmark

Pours black with a nice smallish creamy beige head. Smell is roasty, coffee, cream and a bit cardboard like. Taste is smooth and roasty with a dull chocolate flavor along with a slight cardboard and metallic component. Faint hops in the end that linger a bit. Slightly full bodied with soft, yet crisp carbonation. Nice porter overall. hero12 (61), USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jul 29, 2008 Had on nitro and co2 at the brewery in Ft. Collins. Dark brown to dark amber in color, this medium bodied porter is smooth and bursting with roasted malts. It has hints of coffee and cocoa and finishes dry and quite tasty. At 4.8%, this brew would make a nice session piece in the mold of Edmund Fitzgerald from Great Lakes Brewing.
