Bottle: Dark brown with a tan head Aroma, coffee, roasty, some chocolate, and earthy notes. Flavor, chocolate, coffee, some dark fruits, a little on the dry roasty side. Solid.

Really dark for a porter. Smokey chocalaty aroma. Very dry palate which bugs me a bit. Really tasty, lots of flavor and an easy drinker to boot. Would go into the immediate rotation if it were available here.

Another placemarker for a beer I’ve had many times but never fully rated. Decent porter but nothing too daring.

(Rating #1076)

Sampled at Mondial de la Biere. This was a pretty standard porter. Nothing too great, nothing too bad. nice dark chocolate flavor, some roast coffee as well. Like I said, pretty standard.

Brown-black body with a short-lived tan head. Lots of roastiness over some nice floury cacao. As the beer warms up some raisins and a light roasted coffee beans flavour join the subtle floral leafy hops in the finish. Pleasant silky body. Somewhat stout-ish. This is a light and pleasant beer although not intensely flavourful. Very good but I must admit I expected a bit more from this highly rated below 5% porter. Overall it was very clean beer, maybe a bit too much so. Could benefit from being a little more dirty and nasty. An Odell Deepthroat porter maybe…

Nice drop of porter. A little smoky, perhaps the roast characters are taking it more into stout territory, but it’s really pleasant nonetheless. Subtle bitterness with choc and coffee flavours, all nicely balanced.

12 oz. bottle via trade with PhillyBeer2112 - Pours a dark brown color with a large two finger thick tan head. Light lacing. Aroma is roasted malt, coffee, and light dust. Flavor is roasted malt, light chocolate, and slight oxidation. Medium body. Light roasted aftertaste. A good beer. Thanks Dan.
