| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 25, 2007 Nice drop of porter. A little smoky, perhaps the roast characters are taking it more into stout territory, but it’s really pleasant nonetheless. Subtle bitterness with choc and coffee flavours, all nicely balanced. cbkschubert (2027), Cochise Co., Arizona, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Apr 2, 2007 Faint roasty malt aroma. It’s black with a lasting soapy brown head. Coffee like roasted malt taste. Very mild hoppyness. I don’t usually go for porters but I do like this one. Moderately thick mouthfeel. Little cabonation. I like this stuff. keith0718 (167), Olathe, Kansas, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 31, 2007 Black color with a thick head. Very grainy aroma, like I’m about to drink a watered down macro. Thankfully the graininess in the flavor is a bit more fresh and tasty, but it’s kind of plain and has a burnt quality on the back. Not really much of a porter except for the color. shigadeyo (2263), Harrison, Ohio, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 27, 2007 Odell Cutthroat Porter pours a clear, but nearly opaque very dark brown color. There isn’t really any head or crown to take note of. The aroma is mostly roasted malt with hints of coffee and chocolate (at warmer temps). The flavor is roasted malt and some chocolate, walnuts?, and coffee (not much though). There is some mild dry and roasty bitterness in the coffee flavored finish. According to my bottle the alchol content is 4.8% by volume, but it seems to drink a bit stroner than that. The palate is mostly medium, but it seems a little watery from time to time. Overall this is a good porter, but unfortunately it isn’t overy complex or exciting. I really like the label and bottle design though... Actually, this beer is really starting to grow on me as it warms up some. Along with the flavors described above, some of the hoppiness becomes more apparent. In addition to the grassy/floral/spicy hop flavors, the bitterness gets a little stronger as well, but it remains balanced overall. I still would have liked a bit more body on this beer though...
12 oz bottle (10242006) via trade with kenb (Oct 2006). Thanks for the trade and this beer Ken. I really appreciate it. JK (2967), Richfield, Minnesota, USA
