Body is black with ruby edges, not much of a head. Aroma is heavy coffee and smoke with a bit of espresso and some dark chocolate. Taste is nice and roasty with a little bit of butterscotch to it with espresso and has a slight mettalic taste to it. Mouthfeel is slightly thin but appropriate.

This beer came to me in my beer club. I have never heard of the brewer before. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a black color with a large brown head. The aroma is a rather pleasant mix of strong bitter roasty malts and coffee. The mouthfeel is moderately thick. The flavor is very roasty, smoky and dry. Well made but not really my style.

Bottle. Deep blackish/burgundy pour with a very small head. Aroma is roast malt. Roast flavor is not quite coffee, more of a grilled taste. Finish is sweet and hoppy, not bad.

Nice pour, nearly black with a large, forthy, tan head with decent longevity and nice lacing. Nose is a little bland but rather pleasant, dark cholate and roast with lighter notes of coffee and an earthy, almost woody, hop character. Flavor is more roasty than I would have thought; sweet roast up front with dark chocolate and nice coffee bean and roasted nuts following. Hops are still earthy with a medium bitterness to balance. Palate is medium, soft to lively, somewhat watery. Finishes a little bready and sweet with a lingering coffee note. Fairly decent porter and very approachable, but not excellent in any facet.

12oz bottle. Poured a dark brown color with a small sized off white head. Aromas of strong roast, chocolate and coffee. Tastes of roast, dark chocolate, with a bitter coffee finish. All around roasty. Thinner body.
