| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Oct 5, 2006 Pours a nice dark color with lacing present, although not exactly spectacular. Roasted malts, dark chocolate with coffee pull through but it’s a bit ho-hum for me. The "been there, done that" type of porter. Not bad by any means, but nothing to write home about. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 2, 2006 bottle via trade with kenb. Aroma: Slightly sweet roasted malt aroma with a strong coffee presence. Some coffee, toasted nuts, and a touch of dried fruit, too. Appearance: Dark brown with small chestnut highlights. Light beige head was full and foamy with good retention. Nice lacing. Flavor: Toasted malt upfront with a bunch of coffee following. Some light breadiness peeks out in the middle and a bit of pine right before the finish. Medium bitterness into the finish, as well. Palate: Medium bodied and a little watery. High carbonation wipes the palate before all the flavors can gel. Overall: A good porter, but need a bit more fullness in flavor and a bit less carbonation. Good stuff, despite those small problems. joergen (8610), Frederiksberg, Denmark

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 4, 2006 This beer poured with a nice tan, 4 finger head. The color is dark and murky. Dark, bitter chocolate aroma. It starts out sweet and ends with a bitter edge at the back of the tongue. Plenty of carbonation and so the beer wants to jump around on the tongue as it heads for the throat. Enjoyed the beer. oldrtybastrd (1801), Morlautern, Germany/Great Falls, Montana, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 2, 2006 Pours a nice brownish black color. Aromas of espresso, chocolate, and a hint of bitter smoke. Flavor has a burnt chocolate/coffee taste to it, nice touch of creaminess coming in at the end. Damn fine porter.
