Heavy roasted malt aroma with coffee, chocolate, and light smokiness. Like the arome the taste is big on roasted malt and the slight coffee and chocolate come through in the finish. Very smooth with a light creaminess. SaintMatty (1236), Tallinn, Estonia

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 4, 2009 Dark black with brown edges and a smell like coffee, very nice. The head was a like a creamy blanket lying on top of the beer. I was told that along with Easy Street Wheat, this is Odell’s only unfiltered beer. The taste was roasty and also a little smoky like grilled meat. Mouthfeel was very creamy due to the nitro and it was appreciated but I wonder what the beer was like naturally and why the need for nitro? I liked this beer mostly except for the smokiness. I am also not sure if I like “nitro”, what is the point, can’t they just cask it? The cask IPA I had at Odell’s was so creamy I can’t imagine a better mouthfeel.
Serving type: nitro-tap
