Commercial Description:
Double Pilsner is our tribute to the pilsner style, heavily hopped but balanced with malt and refined on our 5-barrel system. Originally brewed in Bohemia, pilsners were the world's first clear golden lagers and the start of a dramatic revolution in brewing. Today, pilsners are still a revered part of Czech and German life and an inspiration to our brewers.

12oz bottle with what looks like 2 20 07 on it--bottled date, perhaps? Hazy golden yellow with a small white head, fading to a creamy thin film. Grassy with old saltines and some sourdough tang. Only a hint of what I’d call a pilsener in this. Flavor makes me a little bit more happy in its pilsener qualities than the aroma did, and just a hint of skunkiness. More sweet, almost no sourdough tang. As I get further through the glass, it gets a little too sweet. The finish is semi-dry with bitterness peaking around a a 3. Full body with low carbonation. I was hoping to like this one, but it just ended up decent. Thanks to heemer77 for this one.

Doughy grassy nose. Gold with maybe a very slight haze, medium lasting head with some lacing. Herbal sweetness, some honey, bitterness hits with a wallop! Good carbonation, deceptive with its fuller body based on appearance. Finish is a bit hot at first, but mellows out nicely. Really is a fairly clean crisp beer with a huge amount of alcohol. Definitely an interesting beer worth trying,

Bottle. Pours a light gold in color with a small white head. Smells very malty and tastes like sweet malt. The finish is a little bitter but goes down smooth.

Bottle. Pours a light golden color with a thin white head. Aroma is of roasted malts. Taste is sweet and of malt. The finish is sort of bitter and of pine. Tasty, but also very easy to drink. It is also good whether it is warm or cold. Overall, this is a very good beer and is very fulfilling and satisfying. Kudos on the neat bottle, label and packaging.

Hazy, opaque straw colored body. Bright white head. The aroma is lemon poppyseed bread with some spicning like corriander. There is an underlying tropical note, like canned pineapple. The taste has some carrot cake and mango hints. There is also a little bit of lemon poppyseed muffins in the finish. A decent brew that is more sweet than I expected. I like Odell, but this one misses with me.

12 oz bottle, 9 jul 07 App: Crystal clear, pale gold/straw. light head
Aroma: Classic noble hop aromas, light hints of malt
Flavor: sweet start w/ a hoppy bitterness to finish. sticky...
Palate: Light body, but a bit on the medium side.
OA: very tasty pilsner, hard to imagine it’s a "double"

12-oz. Hazy golden with a thin gray head. No lace. Nice old wet-grass funk on the nose. Big creamy medium body. Sour wheaten grassy mid-palate. Big sour herbal hop finish.
