Commercial Description:
Double Pilsner is our tribute to the pilsner style, heavily hopped but balanced with malt and refined on our 5-barrel system. Originally brewed in Bohemia, pilsners were the world's first clear golden lagers and the start of a dramatic revolution in brewing. Today, pilsners are still a revered part of Czech and German life and an inspiration to our brewers.

Bottle: Vibrant yellow, clear, minor carbonation, thin fizzy white head, spotty lacing.   Subtle straw/hay on the nose, a little mealy and cereal like.   Starchy on the tongue, maltier than most, semi-sweet, fairly clean.   Low hop profile, but it becomes more apparent as it warms.   Moderate body and mouthfeel.   Well constructed, certainly feels like a Double Pilsner.   Hides ABV well, although it does feel a wee bit warming.   To be expected I spoze.   I’d certainly have this again.

Sampled at SBWF, 2007. Golden with a white head. Somewhat dry aroma with vegetable-notes. Grassy and pretty sweet flavour. Unpleasant alco-notes.

Pours a clear gold with a frothy, lasting, white head and patchy lacing. The aroma is of yeasty, bready malt and musty, spicy, grassy hops. Medium-bodied and creamy/slick with a tight bitter-hopped finish. The flavor is much nicer than the nose with a sweet pale malt front transitioning into a crisp, grassy hop conclusion. Take the subtle flavors of a nice pilsner and crank them up a couple notches, and you ’d have this sweet, yet hoppy concoction. While it isn’t extraordinary, it’s certainly worth trying, if you get the chance.

Yeasty aromas, with some honey and hops. Pours blonde with a white head. Very crisp flavor, the alcohol is hidden, solid pils flavor, malty and slightly sweet with crisp hop flavor in the finish.

Bottle at "Stockholm Beer & Whiskey Festival 2007". Clear yellow - white head. Honey, corn, high sweetness, grassy, medium hoppy, syrup. Far too sweet. It needs some crispness. Too obvious alcoholic !!!

(Stockholm Beer Festival 2007) Bottle. Pale golden, small white head. Vegetable aroma, malty, bready and a bit sugary. Malty alcohol flavor. Quite a disappointment.

Pale yellow color, small creamy white head. Grassy, a bit papery nose. Sweet liquerish palate, very grassy and hayish flavor. Imperial pilsner? A bit too simple = lots of sweetness and Sazz hops, not enough to impress.

Bottled@SBWF2007. Deep golden colour, not much head. Aroma is pilsish, buttery and some alcohol. Flavour is alcohol, fruityness, hoppyness and quite pleasant. Wellbalanced and also has some slight salty notes.
