| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 3, 2008 oft and dull raspberry red color. Clear. Sweet nose of sugared crystal malt and cedar scented dried hop cones. Some melon and maraschino cherries hint at Avery Hog Heaven, another sweet, thick, imperial red ale (or something). Texture is lightly rough, a little astringent on the back, chalky as well. Mostly sweet candy apple and sugared cedar, intensifying in the finish, leaves the mouth coated with a cherry and melon sugar syrup. A bit flabby on the back end. Okay overall but not something I could drink frequently. aplusbreaks (330), , Colorado, USA
