| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 18, 2008 12oz bottle acquired in trade with acdrz (thanks!). Poured a medium and cloudy copper color with a larger sized, creamy off white head. Aromas of pine, caramel, floral hops, and a little toasty. Tastes of caramel, floral hops, some and some fruitiness. Tastes a little on the weaker side and a bit of a let down compared to the aromas. Nice lacing left on the glass. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jun 14, 2009 Bottle sampled at Noog Four-0 5/31/08: Pours a bright copper with a thin, spotty-lacing white head. Aroma of dry toasty caramel malt with a grainy character and earthy grapefruity hops. Body starts lightly toasty caramely sweet with some earthy bittering and flavor hops before a slightly drier bittersweet finish. An ok imperial red, but could use a little more balance. jcwattsrugger (5333), Florida and, New Jersey, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 3, 2008 oft and dull raspberry red color. Clear. Sweet nose of sugared crystal malt and cedar scented dried hop cones. Some melon and maraschino cherries hint at Avery Hog Heaven, another sweet, thick, imperial red ale (or something). Texture is lightly rough, a little astringent on the back, chalky as well. Mostly sweet candy apple and sugared cedar, intensifying in the finish, leaves the mouth coated with a cherry and melon sugar syrup. A bit flabby on the back end. Okay overall but not something I could drink frequently. Ernest (4487), Boulder, Colorado, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 9, 2006 Bottle. Head is initially average sized, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing. Body is dark amber. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (cookie), moderately hoppy (resin, grapefruit). Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lighlty to moderately bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately bitter. Medium to fully body, velvety/creamy/oily texture, lively carbonation, lightly to moderately alcoholic. Not very special, but ok. There’s a strange oily slickness in the finish that is slightly unpleasant. heemer77 (4303), Savannah, Missouri, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 3, 2008 Bottle. The body is depe rusty brown with a yellowish khaki head. The aroma is fairly hoppy with a lot or grapefruit and some taosted almonds. The taste is rich toffee with some grapefruit coming behind that. There is also some definite pear character in this one. As it warms you get a little bit of cinnamon spice. Nicely made.
