Tons of really fresh west coast hops, pine, and citrus in the nose. Spicy, fresh, wonderfully balanced. This one actually blew me away, just awesome. swanmann (307), Norman, Oklahoma, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Sep 21, 2007 The jug, down from elevation in Fort Collins to Oklahoma, poured clear bronze-ish color w/ moderate tan head, settling quickly. Aroma starts to warm with mentholy pine. Very full flavored without being off balance. Distinct bittering hops but also plenty of roasted malts. Not typical to my experience with reds, but delicious for sure. Way to hop! waolsen (1222), Littleton, Colorado, USA

The head is okay, but the taste is a little too much alcohol. Not very malty. Decent but not great. eboats (887), Omaha, Nebraska, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 20, 2007 Muddy amber/orange with an off white head. Aroma is big sweet fruity hops of orange and grapefruit peels with some floral hops as well. Almost a malty chewiness in the aroma too. Good strong malt body with great hop character. The hops taste like a blend of flowers and fruit. Nice sweet malt and hop finish. Very well done. natedoggkc (164), Lenexa, Kansas, USA

Great hoppiness on the palate along with a grassy-fruity-malt taste. This one is really nice. Beaver (598), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 1, 2006 12 oz bottle. Pours a dark ruby red with a frothy light tan head that diminishes to a film.
The aroma is fresh hops, slightly fruity, with a little nutty caramel and some tinges of DMS.
The flavor is sweet nutty caramel malts with a good sized bitter hop finish. The mouthfeel is medium to full and smooth.
Overall, a very fine beer. I’m surprised by the amount of hops in an Odell beer. Aubrey (2774), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 4, 2006 Deep burgundy, with an off-white head. Creamy, smooth and weighty texture. Nice. Malts had big elements of roasted nuts and Boston Baked Beans sweetness. Fruity apples in the background. This is your typical red ale taken up a few notches. Alcohol is noticeable but not sharp or fusel. Bitterness is balanced. Good stuff.
