12oz bottle. Thick black and opaque. Slight web of bone white head. Chocolate fudge nose. Sweet malty notes. Layered sweet malt notes. Vanilla and chocolate cake. Sticky and lingering. Slight coffee and bittersweet chocolate. This is good. As it warms, the coffee roast really starts to shine through. Toasty malty. Tasty! This is just plain good...as expected!

Bottle from ??. Pours dark brown with a mellow light brown head. Smells of coffee, chocolate, some doughy yeast and peppery hops. Taste is of coffee, chocolate and slightly tangy. Definitely different as far as Imperial Stouts go. I can’t remember who sent this one to me, but if you raed this and it was you, drop me a beermail.

pour is black with a light tan head. strong roast aroma. some coffee is in the nose also. tastes of melted chocolate chips, lots of burnt coffee, and prunes. now it may seem like these flavors are not that great to have together, and that wiould be a correct assumption, this is kind of muddled and i can’t tell if this was meant to be a sweet chocolate impy with roast and coffee undertones, or the opposite. it is a bit of what is needed for either but not achieving anything. finishes with cocoa and lemon zest. a nice mouthfeel though a rich velvety syrup thickness that drinks like nectar. i look forward to the next batch of this because i think some minor tweaks will make for a great beer.

After the Cutthroat Porter, this was a bit disappointing, but our bottle may have gone to skunk a bit. Bottled (with thanks to Slothgar T!) Fully opaque midnight black with a thick tan head. Mild cocoa powder smell on nose. Subtle chocolate flavor (reminded me of a chocolate truffle). Bitter on finish.

12oz bottle via trade with Duane! - Thanks Duane! - Pours black with a nice tan head that settles back to a ring and laces some from there. Coffee, chocolate aroma with some light hops.. Also a lot of roasted malt and a little smoke there. Flavor is nice chocolate and coffee with roasted malts, a touch of smoke and a definite citrus hop presence. Some oranges and a little pine. Medium body with a creamy soft mouthfeel. Pretty nice. Not mindblowingly heavy but a nice stout!

Bottle: Courtesy of Duane via trade. Aroma has lots of roasted grain, coffee, and nuttiness with some hints of smoke, chocolate, and lighter pine. Pours a dark brown with some orange hilights along the outer edges of the glass. Large tan head has very good retention and leaves very nice lacing. Lots of chocolate up front with coffee in the middle. Finishes moderately bitter with some piney hops and a hint of smokiness. Not as heavy a mouthfeel as most imperials but still very soft and creamy. Doesn’t come across so much as an Imperial Stout, but still very tastey and underrated in my opinion.

A very decent stout, not quite what I would call an imperial, but very delicious. Lots of creamy milk chocolate, molasses and some light but robust smokiness. Lots of dark fruits, and overall very well balanced.

Nice stout. Black with a brown frothy head. Aroma held hints of chocolate, coffee, roasted grain, nuts, prune, pine, tobacco. Very interesting. Close to full-bodied with a nice smooth feel and little carbonation. The flavor was robust, café mocha, nicely balanced. Classic.
