Bottled (Thanks heemer77!). Pitch black colour, mediumsized brown creamy head. Lacing. Aroma is roasted malts, some smoked wood, coffee and dark dry fruits. Flavour is very much the same with very toffeeish hints. Very roasted and smoked aftertaste. Also some slight salted licorace. Really lovely.

Bottle sampled on 2/13/07: Pours a barely transparent dark mahogany brown with a thin ring of tan head. Aroma of rich dark chocolate and licorice with a touch of earthy malt. Body starts fairly dull and sweet with a dark caramely malty flavor with a touch of smoke and plum complexity toward a drier finish.

Bottle from ??. Pours dark brown with a mellow light brown head. Smells of coffee, chocolate, some doughy yeast and peppery hops. Taste is of coffee, chocolate and slightly tangy. Definitely different as far as Imperial Stouts go. I can’t remember who sent this one to me, but if you raed this and it was you, drop me a beermail.

12oz bottle. Jan 2008 bottling. Terrible cough syrup nose, fuesal, spoiled plums and band-aids. Flavor of creamed blueberries and plastic. Awful, terrible finish that just amplifies the motor oil and blueberry flavors. Cheesy cottage cheese yeast and an arcid burnt plum flavor round this one out. I’m really surprised it’s this bad when it’s a month old.

Silky dark, reddish brown color with a taller mocha colored head. Quick burst of sulfur when first opened, then roasted and caramel malts, raisins, and touch of plastic hops. Nice lace. Malty and lightly fruity with a touch of blue cheese funk. Hard cidre, and cherry brandy in the middle make it know that this has got some kick. At times this one seems thin, but there is enough depth in flavor to help rescue it from seeming watery. Better than I expected.
