| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 20, 2009 Bottle that I picked up from Bellingers, Jet Garage, Grove Nr Wantage, Oxon, consumed 18-09-09 Pours warm gold with a white head. The hops struggle to shine on the nose as they compete with a heady sweetness, plenty of honey on the nose. The taste lacks the crisp hoppy bite or decent bitterness, its got good flavours but the honey sweetness does tend to dominate.. A7 A3 F7 P3 Ov13 3.3 notalush (2660), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 17, 2009 Pours a hazy dark gold with a soapy, sticky lace - potent nose of resinous hops, with some orange peel and other citrus qualities, as well as some honey and caramel sweetness to anchor all the bitterness - a load of earthy pine cone - dry bitterness, with some fruit peel tang and peppery, zesty qualities - some tropical fruit sweetness, but just enough to keep the hops and peppery flavors from becoming too much - a really well-executed IPA - the kind of IPA that reminds me why I haven’t given up on the style. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Sep 9, 2009 Bottle thanks to MrBunn. The cap pops off and instantly Im greeted with a wonderful grapefruit and pine cloud. This beer smells fantastic. Pours a slightly oily and thickish dark yellow with a decent white head. Taste is quite good except for a rubbing alcohol funk that smacks the back of the tongue and lingers on down the pipes. Nice crisp flavors of citrus, pine and a light floral edge. Not sure I can get past the funk though...its quite distracting from an otherwise very good beer. leaparsons (4726), Leicester, Leicestershire, England
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 7, 2009 Bottle. Golden with a thin foam. Aromas are toffee and pine with lots of tropical fruit. Fresh with apricot and soft spices. Floral with biscuit. Flavours are sweet, fruity and hoppy with tropical fruit syrup. Sweet pine hops with a peppery, spicy finish. Nice. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 3, 2009 Poured from a chilled 355ml bottle.
Appearance: Slightly cloudy, deep yellow, almost orange colour. Pours with a large fluffy head, which shows good retention. Carbonation seems light.
Aroma: Heavily floral on the nose, with powerful aromatic citric hops.
Taste: Big hoppiness in the flavour, imposing a perfumy bitterness right from the start. There are mild biscuity malts hiding under the hops, providing a little sweetness to balance the hops. Grapefruit also comes through along with hints of lemon. It all ends with a resurgence of the hops, providing a clingy bitter onslaught.
Mouthfeel: Light and crisp on the palete, with a mild carbonic feel, and a kinda greasiness.
Drinkability: This a superbly crisp and refreshing beer, served chilled it is great for the summer. The balance of flavours is almost perfect, providing a fantastic taste. The hops are potent to say the least, delivering a strong bitterness that is incredibly addictive. I want more!
