Commercial Description:
Ready to buck convention? We took the traditional IPA, originally shipped from Englad to India in the 1700s, and made it bolder and more flavorful - American style. We've added new varieties of highly aromatic American hops to create a distinctive bitterness profile and an incredible hop character. Hop on, hold tight, and enjoy the ride!

Golden in color with an ample white head. Aroma is hops, grass, and citrus, perhaps grapefruit. Flavor is slightly sweet with hops, grain. Moderately bitter finish. Good hop notes.

pours with a thin head which fades quickly. aroma on the other hand is a wonderful mix of lemon, grapefruit hoppiness. flavor is hops squared-tangy grapefruit, apricot. clarity is good for such a hoppy brew. mouthfeel is nice but a tad fizzy. all in all this is one of my favorite ipas-very heavy on the citrus hops. i like to drink it after a more malty ipa-its seems to make the hop character of the odell ipa stand out that much more.

Bottle. Meaty hoppy nose, big caramel. Pale orange with a little lace but really no head. Very bitter taste, approaching mild brutality, light lemon citrus under the caramel. Light body but huge flavor!

2009 Bottle - Pours orange with a medium off white head...aroma is nicely dank and citric, caramel and pine resin...flavour is similar, nice balance of bitter and flavourful hops, a little grassy on the end with a lightly lingering bitterness...very nice surprise here!

Poured a golden/orange color with a medium sized white head. Aroma is touches of citrus, spices, sweet malts. Hop aroma subtle, but full of hops. Flavor has notes of caramel, touch of grain, full flavor of hops.

12 ounce bottle in pint glass. Pale hazy yellow orange with lasting head and lace. Extremely aromatic grapefruit and pine perfumy hops. Mild vanilla grapfruit with assertive piney grapefruit perfumy finish. Very assertive complex aromatics and citrus pine hop combo without excessive bitterness. Excellent.

Bottle, Beers of Europe. Superb tasting, aromatic and very orangesque in flavour. Very fresh, hoppy, beautifully balanced and smooth, with just enough tanginess. Classic

Had at the All Colorado Beer Festival in Colorado Springs on 11/7/09. Color is a deep gold with good carbonation and a thin tight head. Aroma is a hoppy citrus scent. Starting with a medium body it goes down easy with a crisp feel. Finish comes on with malt and mild caramel then a slight floral hop flavor and citrus. After taste is bitter with a mild citrus. This is a very good IPA with well balanced flavors and a nice mild citrus.
