The featured "beer of the month" in an airport restaurant in Denver, shared with my wife while eating burgers. Nicely malty, semi-sweet, with a subtle spiciness (ginger, nutmeg) in the finish. Very nice.

Had this beer on 12/3/2002. Color is a hazy amber with a good head. Aroma is a mild malt scent. Taste is light and fresh. Starting with a light to medium body that goes down crisp. Finish is a mild malt flavor with a fair hop bitterness on the end. Its not a very rich or bold winter brew but it is a nice drinkable brew.

I can taste that "English ale" musty taste. Almost like a heavy duty lager. Not too strong on the spices. Would like more of the European X-Mas spice. Not bad. But not up to Odell’s standards.

I was not very impressed by this beer. It had barely a whiff of hops, had a fair amount of malt character, a touch of sweetness, and a lot of rusty-tasting iron at the finish. If that sounds like a good time to you, by all means buy tons of this beer, but I was hardly taken with it. Appearance was beautiful; a nice copper red with abundant head. Aroma was non-existent. Flavor was definitely not outstanding...some maltiness, some sweetness, some rustiness, but nothing stands out. Mouthfeel was a bit thin and disappointing. I would not recommend this beer.

Pours a clear dark ruby with some head. Nose has syrup tones with heavy malt edges and a sweet edge. Flavor is robust. Hops present, but not powerfully there. Sweet edge is present and is slightly syrupy on the tongue after it dissipates. Feel is smooth with a touch of bubble. Extremely drinkable. An excellent winter warmer.

12 oz. bottle, bonus beer from BeerandBlues2, thanks Brad. pours a dark amber with a short lived tan head, fading to spotty lacing. aroma is malty with some tea. flavor is pretty mild caramel malt, floral hops and some toast. easy drinking brew, not quite the winter warmer its advertised as being, but still decent.

12 oz bottle pours a clear pale copper with an off-white head and active carbonation. Smells of tea with a hint of grass. The taste starts off with a very earthy, dirty beginning that quickly fades into a crisper, hoppier, lemon and grass filled ending. The palate is somewhat smooth with little bitterness and only a slight grassy aftertaste.

The 12 ounce bottle poured a clear, dark reddish brown beverage with a small frothy white head that was mostly diminishing but it managed to leave some lacing on the glass The aroma had a huge hop component with a lesser, but significant malt contingent, nicely balanced. There were contributions of grasses, floral hops, and dark, dried fruit. It reminded me of a barleywine. The body was full with a soft carbonation and a creamy smooth texture. The flavor started out medium sweet with the flavors of sherry and plums. The finish was medium-long with the sweetness lasting throughout and a nice alcohol warmth at the end.
