| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Apr 3, 2007 12 oz bottle pours a clear pale copper with an off-white head and active carbonation. Smells of tea with a hint of grass. The taste starts off with a very earthy, dirty beginning that quickly fades into a crisper, hoppier, lemon and grass filled ending. The palate is somewhat smooth with little bitterness and only a slight grassy aftertaste. henry3r (586), Wichita, Kansas, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 2, 2007 The 12 ounce bottle poured a clear, dark reddish brown beverage with a small frothy white head that was mostly diminishing but it managed to leave some lacing on the glass The aroma had a huge hop component with a lesser, but significant malt contingent, nicely balanced. There were contributions of grasses, floral hops, and dark, dried fruit. It reminded me of a barleywine. The body was full with a soft carbonation and a creamy smooth texture. The flavor started out medium sweet with the flavors of sherry and plums. The finish was medium-long with the sweetness lasting throughout and a nice alcohol warmth at the end. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 19, 2007 12 oz bottle thanks to Beerandblues2. Caramel and apple aroma off this copper pour with a small but creamy head. Flavors were still mostly malty with a touch of hoppy bitterness on the finish. Defintiely had English character. Not bad. | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 12, 2007 Bottle. Pours flimsy amber/rose-red, non-impressive head and body. Aroma is autumnal hops and fallen leaves. Bitter malt flavor, with a classic English bitterness. Average mouthfee. The illustration is cool. RollinHard (761), Fort Worth, Texas, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 9, 2007 Pours a tan/coppery color with a light yellow head that I didn’t think lasted all that long, but it was right next to the beer that outlasted it. Aroma is light to me, but is fairly nutty, caramel, and buttery. Taste is mostly smooth caramel and biscuit flavors. Not much of a hop character to this finish. I’d say the finish is most memorable for being NOT dry. This beer could have been slightly fuller and creamier. I enjoyed it, but it was lacking some depth.
