Amber colour; Remarkably toasty nose. Very toasty palate, with a hop jam spread over top for a cedary bitterness.

Bottle... GABF RB Tasting ’06... Cloudy orange ale with tons of small, black floaties and a mid-sized, wispy, off-white head. The nose is of caramel, milk chocolate, vanilla and light diacetyl/butterscotch. Some butterscotch in the sweet flavor as well, along with caramel and toasted nuts. Medium-bodied and watery with moderate carbonation. Sweet, then astringent finish. Kudos to DenverLogan for sharing the bottle!

Clear orange with large-bubbled tan head. Smells of smoky nuts and wood, but also a little medicine. Very carbonated and spritzy, with a nutty flavor throughout, prickly on the tongue, and finishes with a roasted caramel and nuts.

2007 bottle. Head is initially small, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing. Body is dark amber. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (caramel, cookie, wort), lightly hoppy (grapefruit). Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery/syrupy texture, lively carbonation. A bit simple, and kind of raw (has that worty brewhouse smell in the background), but not bad.

Bottled. The body was medium amber with a slightly off white head. The aroma was old toffee with some cinnamon and peanuts. The taste was peanuts and caramel. There was also a nice roasted finish to this smooth and very drinkable beer. Another nice one from Odell.

Deep copper color with little to no head, but a sticky remaining film. I couldn’t get any aroma, but my nose is a little stuffy. The flavor is nice ... malted caramel and roasty. Nice finish. Pretty decent.
