Malty aromas with nice traces of cookies, carmel, spice, and pine needles. Chewy malty body with some apricot and tea-like spice on the finish. Solid winter ale. I wish I would have drank this beer a little sooner.

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 12, 2009 Pours a deep amber color with a very small reamy white head which did not hang around very long. There really isn’t much in the way of aroma. Smells of bread and perhaps a touch of alcohol. There really wasn’t much in the way of flavor. It was served so cold I couldn’t really pick much up. Will need to revisit this beer at a later time. What I did pick up on was all rather light with very mild flavors of nuts and toffee. Really not much else going on here. Overall, this isn’t really anything too exciting. Very middle of the road for craft beer.

Nose is soft with some toasty aromas and light caramel. Easygoing and appetizing aroma. More caramel and toasty flavors on the palate with less than average hopping for a winter warmer. Light to medium bodied and very, very drinkable. rader58 (192), Leawood, Kansas, USA

pours a dark shade of coppery-reddish-brown with a clingy soapy white head.
it smells a lot like spiced toffee... caramel, grain sweetness, earthy hops and some toasty nuts.
the flavor is pretty much the same... along with some slight toasted nuts, pine and a dry spicy hopped finish.
the body is medium while the palate is fairly dry. the combination makes this beer easy to put away. 7/3/7/4/15/3.6
