Commercial Description:
Levity was named by our brewers to reflect the lightness of color in this highly drinkable golden amber ale. Extremely refreshing, this is a mild, crisp, hoppy pleasure to consume.

Had this beer on 9/16/2000. Aroma is a slightly sour malt scent. Color is a golden brown with good carbonation and a light head. Taste refreshing with a mild bitterness. Starting with a medium/light body that goes down easy with a crisp tongue feel on the end. Finish is mild malt flavor backed by a light bitterness. There was a slight metallic taste at first but it faded as I drank it.

Bottle: Amber in color, fairly clear, large foamy off-white head, fairly sticky lacing.   Malty nose, combination biscuity and barnish.   Overall fairly biscuity on the tongue.   Heavier than most examples, which is nice.   However, it does have a dusty grainy twang on the backside.   Almost as if its too malt accentuated without a good soft bitter background.   Could stand to be a bit more sweet to counteract the heavy maltiness.   Yeah, a bit more sweetness would make this thing just right.   Kinda falls off on the backside tho, in terms of flavor.   Average example that needs more sweetness and a little more hop presense.   As it warms it becomes more cereal like.

Bottled at Mesa Verde in the A terminal at Denver International airport. My last beer on American soil before boarding my plane to Munich after a 10 day stay. An amber beer with a thick light orange head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of caramel, while the flavor is sweet malty with notes of straw and caramel, as well as hints of hopd.

12 oz bottle; nose of caramel, a little grassy hops, and not much else; amber with a medium beige head; flavor of caramel, some light hop bitterness, and somelight fruity sweetness. Ok, but not Odells best effort.

Pours a hazy amber with a loose, frothy, beige head that leaves behind spindly lacing. Unlike many ambers that are actually copper or orange, this beer is actually "amber". How novel. The nose, while fairly muted, is of bready/biscuity malt and a faint fruitiness without the annoying metallic note that I pick up in many ambers. The mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with a bready tongue-scrubbing texture that finishes fairly dry. The flavor is of bready pale malts with a lightly fruity, crisp hop finish. I am actually surprised that this beer isn’t ranked higher than it is, in both overall and style percentiles. I am generally not a big fan of ambers, primarily because of the metallic characteristics that if observed in so many of them. This beer, however, is devoid of that particular annoyance and is all the better for it. A very drinkable beer and one of the better amber ales that I have sampled.

Decent beer. Tastes kind of like a wheat beer. Goes down smooth. Something in it makes me recall orange juice. I’d drink it again in a pinch.

Almost identical to the 5 Barrel Pale Ale. Nearly clear orange, moderate head with good lacing and retention. Aroma is light spicy hops with light caramel and pale malts. After having the APA right before this I lost interest and dumped this one.

Beautiful amber color. Head that lingered for me. Slight hop aroma. Evenly balanced malt with finishing hop taste.
