Commercial Description:
The Rocky Mountain Goat is no ordinary goat. Just like Odell Red is no ordinary red. We took the American-style red to a whole new level by adding a variety of aggressive American hops—giving this ale a distinctive fresh hop aroma and flavor. We think you’ll agree this red has some serious kick. Available February – May of ’09 6.5% Alcohol By Volume

Bottle. Pours a red brown with a large, foamy tan head that slowly fades. Taste is of caramel, fruit, malt, hops and grass. Slightly bitter. A little thin and kind of oily. Rather sweet. Similar aroma. Easy to drink. Pretty good and rather enjoyable, but a little overpriced in my area.

Bottle at Chriso’s post GBBF one night. Slightly herby hoppy, some rich red fruit malt aroma. It’s ok, some sweetness, decent hop throughout. Hops on end are ok.

12oz bottle. Pours a clear amber with a two finger head that leaves lacing all over the glass. Smells is huge floral and pine hops. Taste is very balanced. Starts out with a nice hoppy floral bite that fades into caramel smooth malt flavors. Complex and very tasty.

A copper colored brew with a nice frothy tan head. A pleasant malty and hop aroma is well balanced. Plenty of hops tasted. They are pine and grapefruit. The beer also offers some grain flavors. Well rounded, well balanced, and well done!

Bottle, Superb hoppy aroma. Amber coloured pour with reasonable white head. Caramel, malty, hoppy, fruity not bitter at all. Very pleasant indeed, my first Odell beer.

Bottled (at Chriso, I think BB 08/2009). Amber color, small white head. Rye bready aroma, some fruits (mango), resin. Caramel malts, bready notes, hops. Standard, but well-brewed amber ale.
