Commercial Description:
Odell Woodcut No. 2 , an oak aged golden ale, was brewed over six months ago on the brewery’s pilot brewing system. The golden ale has been aging in virgin oak barrels and will bottle condition in cork finish, 750 ml bottles. Crafted with fine specialty malts and hops, Woodcut No. 2 is a golden copper color. The rich toffee-like malt character is balanced by soft tannins. Freshly cut wood and vanilla bean aromas compliment the beer’s smooth finish.

Bottle shared at Eric’s party in Nov. 2009 thanks to Mikey, thanks man. Pours a clear dark amber color with a medium white head. A sweet nose of malts some yeast and a bit of sugary oak. The flavor is very good; a sweet mix of rich malts, toffee, some yeast. Everyone liked this beer a lot that night. Very good.

Girls surprised us with this one in Colorado. Spent too much, but nice to try. Clear golden color with a small head. Dull peach aroma, malty and sweet with some apricot and sherry. Smooth with a taste of oak and alcohol and a trail mix apricot aftertaste.

750ml bottle. Oak wooden barrel and sweet malty aroma. Copper body with thin head. Flavor is mostly oak, bourbon and some sweet malt much like aroma. Had this in the cellar for awhile. Mellow brew with little alcohol presence.

Bottle #4299. Corked and caged 750ml bottle poured into a Snifter at 50°. Color is a deep golden with a hint of amber. Aroma is rich with the scents of molasses, honey and yeast. It has a full body with a creamy mouth feel that goes down rich with a slightly flat feel. Finish is rich and sweet with raisins, apple and butterscotch then just a faint hint of oak. After taste is sweet with the alcohol coming out. I love this brew, almost a Barley Wine, I would like it even more if the carbonation was just a hair higher. The more I drink it the more I like it, if it wasn’t $25 a bottle I would drink it everyday.

Bottle bought in Colorado, and opened at PP bottle shop. Very sweet (and very good, because of it). Cloudy yellow orange color. Mellowed buttery oak aged goodness. Mellowed hops. Excellent.

Milky cloudy light orange hue with no head. Nose is sweet malts, light fruits, light wood, spices, tropical fruit and citrus. Flavor is pineapple and citrus tones overlaid on wood and bready malts, sweet bread and light bitterness, vanilla, some plums and cherries in the sweet finish. Light-med body, med carbonation, thick texture. Amazing wood-aged golden ale with great flavor complexity, absolutely delicious!!
