| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 3, 2009 Aroma is rich, oily and yeasty with a firm overtone of fine roast coffee. It pours a nice, dark, nearly opaque chocolaty brown. Flavor is malty with coffee and chocolate undertones, as well as hints of molasses and smoke. Texture is smooth and fizzy, just a teeny bit watery. Recommended. kappldav123 (1861), Markkleeberg, Germany
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jan 14, 2009 The bottle looks good but very similar to all the other Schmucker bottles. Looks really fine in the glass, nice head. Starts very mild, only modest malty. The finish is a little bit fruity, notes of plum. Not bad, but could be maltier! Dedollewaitor (3746), Odense, Denmark

Slightyl malty with hints of caramel and roasted malt. Shy hoppy notes. To me, this is rather a Dunkel than a Schwarzbier. dm9831 (1167), Monee, Illinois, USA
