Bottle 50cl.
Clear medium red brown color with a large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, coffee, light soapy. Flavor is light heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long to average duration, dusty. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20091004]

Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of fonefan. Pours a clear orangey brown with a fine beige head. Roasted almost coffeeish - aroma. Medium body, sweet rosted malts and some dark chocolate. Surprisingly no real bitterness. 041009

Aroma is rich, oily and yeasty with a firm overtone of fine roast coffee. It pours a nice, dark, nearly opaque chocolaty brown. Flavor is malty with coffee and chocolate undertones, as well as hints of molasses and smoke. Texture is smooth and fizzy, just a teeny bit watery. Recommended.

The bottle looks good but very similar to all the other Schmucker bottles. Looks really fine in the glass, nice head. Starts very mild, only modest malty. The finish is a little bit fruity, notes of plum. Not bad, but could be maltier!

50cl bottle. Pours dark brown with a small creamy head & lacings. Nose is roasted, caramel & sugar/butter. Medium bodied. Pleasant bitter roast. On the sweet side. Drinkable/pleasant!

bottle, traded with koelschtrinker. Clear amber brwon yellow, quite pale for a Schwarzbier. Slightyl malty with hints of caramel and roasted malt. Shy hoppy notes. To me, this is rather a Dunkel than a Schwarzbier.

pours brown with ruby highlights, fluffy tan head that leaves a ring around the glass. mild aroma of malt, wine, raisin. there is some alcohol in the flavor, but not enough to offset the main sweetness. mostly this is a mild beer, but the main influence is the dry fruit, wine, raison tones. i couldn’t quite determine what they were trying for here. thanks to <a href=http://www.ratebeer.com/ViewUser.asp?UserID=1 cornfield for this sample

Labelled Odenwalder Shwarz Beer. Pours dark brown, with a decent white head. Mild lacing. Aroma of sweet malts. Flavor is light malts, a bit of caramel maybe. Followed by an earthy wood flavor. Very thin on the palate. Decent lightly bitter finish lasting a decent time.
