Quack-Duck (1609), Bodensee, Germany May 11, 2008 bottle, thank you MoritzF! Clear golden yellow, small head. Hoppy nose. Medium-bodied, fresh and crip taste. Malty background with aromatic herbal and slightly grassy hops, with a tiny touch of barnyard.
tomciccateri (441), Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA Mar 30, 2008 Draught in Frankfurt. Clear gold color with a thick white head. Light body with a very smooth, full mouthfeel. Unique floral character with a clean pale malt flavor balance. Very subtle hops bitterness. Nice. MoritzF (3638), Ruhrpott, Germany May 15, 2006 (from the tap) Had this one at a crappy bistro after a long and joyful wine-tasting session at the vineyard of Glaser-Himmelstoss in the medieval town of Dettelbach, Franconia when desperately seeking for a final beer in the middle of the night. Clear pale golden colour with a fluffy but rather quickly diminishing white foam. Dense aroma of grassy hops and light sweet malt. Bitter flavour, light to medium bodied, moderately carbonated. Dry hoppy and malty taste; dry and bitter but rather slim and slightly metallic finish. Not very exciting, although it was the right stuff to calm down and get sleepy after so much (excellent &) upsetting wine. Papsoe (9693), Frederiksberg, Denmark Oct 11, 2005 (Bottle 50 cl) Pale golden fresh pilsner with a nice creamy head. Good malty fullness and a rather present hoppy bitterness. Quite typical German quality-pils without too much fuss. (310504) Ungstrup (10824), Frederiksberg, Denmark Nov 15, 2004 A hazy yellow beer with a white head. The aroma is of hops and grass. The flavor is hoppy with hints of caramel and the body is thin.
