Commercial Description:
We dry-hop this American Style India Pale Ale with seven grains and four domestic hop varieties by adding dry whole hops to the finishing tank so the beer rests "on top" of the hops for five extra days! Malty sweetness up front with big cascade and glacier hops in the finish -- a wonderfully drinkable IPA!

A very middle of the road IPA. This would be a good crossover beer for the BMCs. Aroma was decent. Grassy hops mainly with a hint of citrus. Pour was a nice deep gold with a lot of small bubbles and a half finger white head. Taste was very middle of the road. The hops were there. The malt balanced everything out, but there was nothing that stood out to rise above the normal IPA. Good, not great.

It has a very nice head that goes away fairly quickly. Just the right amount of carbonation to it and a nice amber coloration to it.

Bottle from Party Source. This beer pours a mostly clear copper color with a medium light beige head that has decent retention. Patchy lacing on the back half of the glass. Piney hops and mild malt in the nose. Medium body with a moderately bitter hops character, and flavors of pine and grapefruit along with a touch of malt. The finish is citrus and hops with a somewhat sweet underlying malt that lingers awhile. Above average all around.

pours a nice hazy copper with an impressive, nicely lacing off-white head. the aroma is non-agressive hops and citrus. flavor is bubbly grapefruit and hops with some, but not much bitterness. medium bodied. mildly amusing. i enjoyed this beer, but (you knew there had to be a but), it is not as good as some of the stronger ipa’s. and why did it take 5 days to make this?

Gusher of a pour, hazy and well carbonated with a creamy head. Strong, pleasant hoppy aroma, floral with some herbal notes. Big but not bracing hop flavor with citrus, pine and a little green grass. Good balancing malt and bitterness. Soft palate, full body. Better than average IPA.

12oz Bottle Vancer threw this in as an extra in our latest trade. A soapy ivory head grows to one finger on the pour and falls to a respectable crown, becoming creamy and leaving some patchy lacing. All this sits atop a setting sun orange of a body with sheets of carbonation bubbles rising to the head and keeping it supplied. The aroma brings a welcomed array of hoppiness albeit a little faint. The hops bring the sensation of freshness when lemon greets the nose, there’s a squeeze of orange in there as well. The backend brings a mild grassiness when I dig in deep. There’s some malts fighting through that are pale and add a sweetness to the citric hoppiness. Flavor is exactly what the nose suggested. More hops were used for the aroma and in dry hopping than for bittering. The pale malt sweetness lingers throughout and, when combined with the lemon and orange rinds, adds a candied rind characteristic I find myself enjoying quite a bit. The body is on the lighter side of moderate and could actually use a little more "umph". Smooth on it’s way through with a dry finish and mild bitterness (IPA standards). This is an incredibly easy drinking IPA and I think the drinkability is it’s biggest strength. The lighter body and candied rind hoppiness make it a beer that would be easily sessionable. As a matter of fact 5 Day is so drinkable I had to put myself in check so I had enough left to finish the review. A solid, enjoyable, easy drinking IPA from O’Fallon. I wouldn’t hesitate picking this up to enjoy a few in a more social situation. 2/28/08

12 oz. bottle. Pours a slightly hazy amber color with a very good sized beige head with decent retention. the aroma is very citrus up front with some floral notes and sweet malt coming through as well. The flavor is very similar to the nose. It is hoppy early; bitter hops , citrus hops along with some roasted caramel malt. the malt is not enough to balance the hops. Light body and a little thin. Not bad.
