Poured a hazy orangey copper with a nice frothy, foamy, bubbly topped off-white head, decent retention, small amount of ringed sticking.
Right from the start you can tell this has been dry hopped, aromas of dry leafiness with pine resins and citrus rind, a light sweet maltiness in the background.
Good, steady carbonation and a crisp, dry, hop slick, creamy smooth medium-light bodied mouthfeel.
Nice hoppy taste, a pretty balanced AIPA, pine oil, citrus zest and rind, an underneath sweet caramelized maltiness, just enough to cut the sourness, towards the end a touch of butter, and in the end the dry hops comes out, leading to a dry, softly bitter finish. The hop bitterness is light, but does softly numb the tongue, overall, a good mix of sour hops and sugary, grainy malts.
This is now my favorite St. Louis AIPA, I also prefer this to Goose Island, I need to do side by side comparisons with some Michigan and Wisconsin AIPA’s. Also great from the tap.

Dark amber/almost brown coloration with a 1/2 inch head and some pretty active carbonation. Aromas are of pine/resin with a bit of a citrusy note of pineapple and grapefruit as well. Malt body doesn’t show up heavily in the aroma, but it’s caramel presence nicely balances the transition between the piney cascade hops up front and the milder grapefruit finish. Really nicely blended. esjaygee (1537), Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | May 15, 2008 Hazy amber with thin off-white head. Hoppy aroma of citrus, pine, floral hops with a little malty sweetness behind it. Taste of pine, citrus and mild floral hops with a sweet finish that isn’t too bitter at first but as it lingers gets a bit stronger. Creamy texture with some astringency. Drinkable but not outstanding. mjs (1516), Helsinki, Finland

This bottle seems to have some age on it, however, judging from aroma I can tell it was probably quite the beer when fresh. Pours a murky dull orange with a frothy off-white head. Faded hop and cardboard aroma, however, a decent amount of peachiness underneath. Flavor is much the same, medium smooth caramel, peachy hops, some oxidation. Medium body with fizzy carbonation. Would love to get one fresh. Strykzone (1483), Wood River, Illinois, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 21, 2008 One of the nicer looking pours of IPAs I have had. Nice orange hue with a golden uneven head that leaves a sticky lacing. A big aroma of grapefruit and pine. It is a very smooth beer to drink and is more creamy than oily. This is definitely a very well hopped beer but offers enough malt to offset much of the tartness. Grapefruit, pine, and floral notes. Bitterness is not significant. Hats off to the O’fallon crew! | 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jun 29, 2009 bottle, from trade with Strykzone. Aroma was Ok. I got a nice initial citrus aroma only to get overpowered by a cardboard, paper thing and sour grapefruit. Clean brownish orange color, ok head that faded quickly, no lace. Bitter flavor, grapefruit, little herbal, and cardboard. Medium body, lite creamy mouthfeel, bitter finish, Eh, this one didn;t come together for me. Aroma quickly went south after a nice initial scent. Flavor also suffered an odd combo of sweet and bitter. I’m guessing it was oxidized, made for a slow drink. Oh well....
