Med amber hue with an average sized off-white head that mostly diminished and left good lace. Flavor is sweet then tart and bitter. Palate is light-medium bodied, watery, and lively. A nice average IPA that could session well. Good nose. merlin48 (519), New Tazewell, Tennessee, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 14, 2008 12 oz bottle pours a hazed amber body with a tall offwhite head. Excelent retention and lavish sticky lacing. Hoppy aroma of grapefruit, grassiness, and pine. Medium body, well carbonated, and an assertive hops presence stings the tongue. Hops are grassy and citrus rind in nature with a pine edge. Just a hint of caramel sweetness to smoothe the hop edge. A nice American IPA. GranvilleTim (518), Granville, Illinois, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 20, 2007 from a 12-ounce bottle, pours a dense copper color with only slight lace. Very piney aroma. Medium body, somewhat creamy mouthfeel, dominant hop flavor and bitterness. Maltiness is there but dominated by the hops. No hint of alcohol. At the lighter end of American IPAs. pintocb (513), Darsville, Georgia, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 19, 2007 Bottle from tjthresh. Perfect amber IPA color. Small white head. Lots of pine in the nose. Hmmmmm......interesting. I like IPA’s and this one smells really good. Flavor is some malt with grapefruit and piney hops. My only complaint would be that it is a little thin. I like my IPA’s to be wet and sticky. Oops. Can I say wet and sticky here? Thanks Tom, I really liked this one. This would frequent my fridge. GJF (510), Cedar Rapids, Iowa, USA

Delightfully creamy and rich, lots of floral hop flavor in the finish. Had this on tap elsewhere as well and it wasn’t nearly as good, but on cask at the I.B. it was an excellent beer. The body of the brew was a clear amber color.
There is a good hop presence on this nose grapefruit and gassy. There was a slight sour note on the brew as well. A great bitter forward brew the hops are nice and fresh some piney resin and citrus. There was a medium feel to my mouth with ample carbonation for my tongue.
A nice IPA would not turn it down. Good drinkability on the brew easy to session

Vancer threw this in as an extra in our latest trade. A soapy ivory head grows to one finger on the pour and falls to a respectable crown, becoming creamy and leaving some patchy lacing. All this sits atop a setting sun orange of a body with sheets of carbonation bubbles rising to the head and keeping it supplied.
The aroma brings a welcomed array of hoppiness albeit a little faint. The hops bring the sensation of freshness when lemon greets the nose, there’s a squeeze of orange in there as well. The backend brings a mild grassiness when I dig in deep. There’s some malts fighting through that are pale and add a sweetness to the citric hoppiness.
Flavor is exactly what the nose suggested. More hops were used for the aroma and in dry hopping than for bittering. The pale malt sweetness lingers throughout and, when combined with the lemon and orange rinds, adds a candied rind characteristic I find myself enjoying quite a bit.
The body is on the lighter side of moderate and could actually use a little more "umph". Smooth on it’s way through with a dry finish and mild bitterness (IPA standards).
This is an incredibly easy drinking IPA and I think the drinkability is it’s biggest strength. The lighter body and candied rind hoppiness make it a beer that would be easily sessionable. As a matter of fact 5 Day is so drinkable I had to put myself in check so I had enough left to finish the review.
A solid, enjoyable, easy drinking IPA from O’Fallon. I wouldn’t hesitate picking this up to enjoy a few in a more social situation.
