Lighter fruity scotch notes, with some woody notes. Watered down caramel very thin with a hint of oxidized fruit notes in the background. Poor. j12601 (1258), Poughkeepsie, New York, USA

Bottle at Paul’s tasting. Pours a clear caramel brown with a thin white head. Faint berry, little grain and cardboard. Slightly oxidized malt, a little bit astringent. Finishes slightly sweet, with a little more cardboard.

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 21, 2009 Pours a murky dark brown with a medium off-white head that doesn’t last very long. Good aroma of bready, roasted malt, some blackberries, and a touch of peat. The flavor is sweet and fruity upfront, with roasted Scottish malts on the finish. Fruit is not over powering, but complementary. Lightly bodied but very tasty. I’m not a big fan of fruit beers, but this one surprised me. DalzAle (486), Eden Prairie, Minnesota, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Apr 27, 2009 Bottle. Pour was slightly hazy brown, a little carbonation and a fruity (and smoky?) aroma. Flavor was malt, some syrupy fruit. This one just didn’t do much for me. I wouldn’t suggest buying, troyc (1175), Lubbock, Texas, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Dec 3, 2008 [Bottle] Pours a brown color with a small tan head. Aroma of berries seems pretty artificial. Some darker sweet malts in the aroma. The taste is very interesting, with some light fruit/berry in there, along with light peat, smoke and earthy malts. Medium mouthfeel, with a slightly astringent finish. Certainly an interesting beer, but I personally did not enjoy the fruit notes in this style of beer. Worth a try though. gws57 (1137), Saint Charles, Illinois, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 26, 2008 Found this one bottled. Copper pour with a thick, persistant head. A bit sweet in the nose, berries and bourbon. The flavor is not dominated by berries, however. This is a complex beer with some interesting maltiness going on. thedm (3836), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Jun 26, 2008 This bottled brew from Fort Wayne, IN poured a very small sized head of quickly diminishing light brown colored finely sized bubbles that left behind a slightly hazy softly carbonated brown colored body and a poor lacing. The aroma was mildly fruity with malty notes. The mouth feel was tingly and crisp from start to finish with a malty backing. The flavor contained notes of malt and mild fruit. An OK so so brew. hotstuff (3175), Indiana, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Jun 1, 2008 Bottle. Very small tan head that mostly endured, splotchy lacing, hazy, lively, fast rising carbonation, and a ruby brown hue. The nose was mostly malt, sweet, hints of chocolate, and extremely light blackberry. Almost non-existent blackberry. Ditto for the flavor. Fairly smooth, thin mouthfeel and light-medium bodied. Easy to drink, nothing special and easily forgettable. Next!!
