esjaygee (721), Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA Jul 3, 2008 Let’s see I had a Bells Cherry Stout yesterday, so why not give O’Fallon’s Cherry Chocolate a try? Perhaps because it’s yet another fruity O’Fallon beer that misses the mark but this one a bit more than the chomping peach that is wheach or the Scottish Blackberry concoction. At least I liked those labels. How does the blackberry bagpipe player not fall over? Among the great mysteries of all time… anyway, the beer looks good in its cloudy amber form with a medium rocky beige head. Aroma of cherry, chocolate, grassy mold and something funky that says don’t drink me. But did I listen ? No – taste of chocolate, cherry that leaves a cherry aftertaste. Not grandma’s tasty cherry pie but the knock off 3 for a dollar variety you find next to the pork rinds at a Flying J. Over carbonated with a cola like consistency and a somewhat peppery finish. ThaBobfather (130), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Jun 6, 2008 Terrible. It looks nice in the glass. But there is very little cherry or chocolate and it doesn’t mix well at all. jeffwilliams11 (253), hooterville, Michigan, USA Jun 1, 2008 tasters and smells like a cordial cherry...which is not necesarily a great thing. my bottle said it was a cherry chocolate stout. if that is the case, then this is the thinnest stout i have ever had. low quality chocolate and artificial cherries...flat... shanepardue (72), Kansas City, Missouri, USA May 18, 2008 Dark walnut color, tastes like a tootsie pop in the beginning then ends in bland carbonation. Not a fan. SpudClampDawg (919), Jasper, Indiana, USA Apr 28, 2008 12oz bottle: Pours like a cherry coke with a thick, tan head. The nose is fusel, with a sharp and medicinal cherry note overtaking the fudgey chocolate base beneath. While I can get past the off cherry note in the nose, it literally dominates the body. Fake cherry and nail polish alcohol infused body. Yikes, not much to say about this one. I hope infection or autolysis is at work here as this is undrinkable. Drain pour.
