| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Nov 18, 2006 This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a medium sized head of foamy finely sized tan colored bubbles that were and left behind a typically carbonated red brown colored body and a good lacing. The funky aroma was dark chocolate and cherry. The thin mouth feel was tingly at the start with a mellow finish. The flavor contained notes of cherry and chocolate. A decent one but not one that I would consider buying again. A good cherry chocolate brew, but why? The flavors are very distinguishable, but what a strange combination. Goo d if you like cherris and chocolate mixed together, but why? Aarrgghhh not my favorite by any means. smoosh (523), New Albany, Indiana, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Sep 23, 2006 Bottle - I’m kinda starting to develop a distrust of breweries with no taproom. This is an odd beer. The only style mentioned on the bottle is ale. The aroma is pretty much all bad chocolate. Translucent medium brown with a beige head. It does taste a lot like chocolate covered cherries ... but I don’t particularly like them. The chocolate is somehow almost gritty and the cherry is almost exclusively in the finish. Not a huge fan of this one. hotstuff (3183), Indiana, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Sep 23, 2006 Bottle. Poured a medium sized ivory fizzy head that mosty diminished, poor lacing, transparent, lively, fast-rising carbonation, and a ruby hue. Nose was sweet, chocolate and cheries. Flavor was very unpleasing to me - sweet, dry, cherries, chocolate, artificial, and boring. Mouthfeel was smooth. Light body. This one did absolutely nothing for me in terms of having a good flavor to it. Very unsatisfying and definitely not pleasing on my palate. Harsebrau (166), Kansas City, Missouri, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Sep 12, 2006 Immediately surprised as soon as I poured it - was expecting a stout or even a porter. Very small head that disappeared quickly. Smelled like cheap chocolate - like the leftover eggs after Easter. The ones you really don’t like and wonder why you have them. The name is true, though, it tastes like chocolate covered cherries. But it also has that waxy aftertaste you get with chocolate covered cherries. Just not what I’m looking for in a beer. | 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Jul 25, 2006 Aroma is sweet malt with a weird pungency... the chocolate cherry. Not a nice aroma. Appearance is ok... light brown with head that fades quickly. Flavor is cherry soda, a bit of chalky chocolate. Finish is sweet and light bodied. Not fond of this beer. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 11, 2006 Hazy red/brown color with a small beige head. Aroma is similar to a tootsie pop, but its a lot sweeter and has a notes of alcohol and vanilla. Flavors of chocolate, cherry and vanilla. I liked it. aracauna (2391), Georgia, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 7/20 | Jun 19, 2006 This pours a lot lighter than I expected given the chocolate in the name, which had me thinking stout, but this is more a brown ale. The flavors are fake tasting and quite frankly, I found this beer to be a drain pour. kwoeltje (1333), Manchester, Missouri, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Apr 29, 2006 (bottle) I was expecting a stout or porter, so I was surprised by the medium brown color. Only a small tan head. Musty damp earth aroma with an artificial chocolate smell. Artificial tasting.
