It pours to a bronzed light mahogany body with a light thickness fizzy white head. The aroma is exactly like a chocolate covered cordial cherry. I had a box for xmas so it’s pretty well in my memory bank. Heck, the flavor is 95% similar too. It has more of the creamy filling and cheap chocolate shell than the cherry flavor. That could be more apparent. The palate is light bodied, lingering, artificial. A valiant attempt at making a chocolate covered cherry beer but it’s cloying and not something I want to drink. Eating them is just fine, however. TheDean (785), MIlwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Feb 12, 2006 This beer litterally smells like a box of chocolate covered cherries. Apart from a slightly sour pre-taste, taste like a box of cherries. Not sure if I like that in a beer of not, but points for making something different. illinismitty (1801), Nashville, Tennessee, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Feb 6, 2006 Bottle. Aroma of malt and medicinal cherry. Label says artificially flavored, and boy it tastes like it. The malt flavor has no residual sweetness, and the cherry chocolate has the flavor of a cheap candy you get at the Walgreens checkout counter. That artificial flavor lingers like a sticky life saver, not pleasant. . Interesting idea, sub par beer. MilkmanDan (1940), Eagan, Minnesota, USA
| 1.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Feb 2, 2006 It’s like drinking a glass of bad Christmas candy. Reasonably dark red-brown. Nose sugary, fake cherry and cheap chocolate waft up and, regrettably, they stick around once the beer is tasted. Reminds me of my wife’s homemade chocolate-covered cherries, with the exception that hers are really good and this is really not. SHITE. frankenkitty (1903), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Feb 1, 2006 Pours a hazed, melon/vermillion/brown with a quick, tan head. Aroma picks up after grassy hops on top of malted milk chocolate to a richer chocolate experience with esters (but without the cherry). Flavor does find sweet cherriness with chocolaty malts, but the flavor is fleeting with a highly carbonated mouthfeel washing it away. That, and it’s a bit gassy to boot.

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jan 22, 2006 12 ounce bottle courtesy of the one and only Sethdude...dude. Pours a rather thinnish looking dark brown-black, smallish quick-dying head....seriously intense chocolate aroma, bittersweet baking variety mostly, with maybe a slightly hint of dark fruit and a smidgeon of coffee....flavor offers a bit more cherry, but the chocolate character is that of weak candy syrup, like thin chocolate Coke almost, and the body is somewhat watery, over-attenuated and fizzy...not enough malt character, no hops at all that I can detect. Oh well...started out promisingly and certainly better than many other examples I’ve had of "candy beers." Nice chocolatey color and aroma. A bit of a sour finish. Overall, this is a pretty good beer, and worth trying. Especially if you can find it on sale for $2.99 a 6-pack like I did. | 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Dec 14, 2005 Much light in color than I was expecting. A cloudy umber color with a diminished beige head. Certainly smells like a chocolate covered cherry to me. Not that I am a big fan of them, but I can appreciate the scent. There does seem to be a touch of mold that distracts slightly. Light sweet malt flavor has some presence throughout the quaff. Really not that bad. The chocolate and cherry is there, but it does seem somewhat un-natural. Of course, so does a chocolate covered cherry. Have not really wanted to try this, but I did find a single. Not a great big fan of the brew, but if you like chocolate covered cherries, you certainly should enjoy this one.
