This brew is a clear dark copper color with a medium off-white head that burns off rather quickly. Spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of biscuit and grainy malt plus some fruit. Medium-bodied with flavors of toasted malt, spiced hops and fruit. The finish is sweet and malty with a mildly spiced hops aftertaste. Better than I was expecting. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 11, 2008 Not bad. It pours a deep amber body with a modest yet sustained beige head. No lacing to speak of. The aroma is sweet and bready with a splash of runny caramel and a wee bit of an herbal/earthiness to it. Kind of light bodied, it has an additional orchard fruitiness to it and the hoppy bitterness, still mild, is a tad stronger to keep the flavor from getting cloying.

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jan 26, 2008 Poured a medium amber color with no head. The aroma on this was sweet, with some malt, and dark fruit. The flavor was OK, but it was somewhat thin, and undercarbonated. It’s about what I’ve come to expect from O’Fallon brews... Not terrible, but not great. MrKrinkle (10), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 20, 2008 What everyone else has said pretty much. It has a caramel, milky-creamy palate taste to it. A different tatste to it, but not in a bad way. I especially like it, but not for everoyne. Ughsmash (4097), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 20, 2008 Bottled. Poured a crystal-clear, deeper coppery brown with a short, creamy cap of tan head. The aroma picked up an array of darker fruits and caramel with the bready yeast that Cougar found (started out boozy and detergenty, but it dissapeared with time to breathe). The flavor had an aged caramel and milkier chocolate base with warm herbal and earthy bitterness surrounding.. warm, toasty caramel finish.. tasty. Medium-bodied with an unremarkable, but OK feel on the palate. I’d have another. CaptainCougar (5538), Rockville, Maryland, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 20, 2008 Pours a transparent dark copper mahogany with a thin, wispy-lacing off-white head. Aroma of sweet dark caramel and milk chocolate with some bready German yeasty notes and mildly tart esters. Body starts pretty chewy for a dunkler bock with some sweet dark caramely maltiness and earthy bittering hop character toward a toasty malty finish with some lingering milk chocolate and light fruity presence. A pretty authentic and enjoyable dunkler bock. tjthresh (1782), Greenfield, Indiana, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 1/5 | 8/20 | Jan 16, 2008 12 ounce bottle. Pours dark red with a decent tan head. When the head fades, it looks like black cherry Kool-Ade. The nose is roasted nuts. Maybe praline pecans. The flavor is a bit on the sweetish side. Cooked maple syrup. Cloy. Medium body. Heavy mouthfeel. No real carbonation. Sweet finish. Very hard to enjoy. Yuck.
