| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Mar 2, 2008 Updated: Mar 8, 2008re-rate... Figured out the bourbon aroma. Drank the beer by the pool with coconut-smelling sunscreen on my face. Happened again today with a watery South American pale lager. I was like... "damn, did they barrel age this Cerveza Imperial?" A couple points taken off the aroma that were bonused for originality... and my love of all things bourbony. ***Original rating*** Bottle... Almost clear, orange ale with a small, creamy, off-white head. Good retention. The nose is a mystery to me as it’s a bit lactic and very oaken. I’m also picking up notes of sourmash. Full-bodied, fatty and chewy with medium carbonation. Malty-sweet and woodsy with moderate bitterness and just a tinge of acidity. Short, crisp, very lightly bittersweet finish. Strange brew... but underrated in my book. Thanks go out to xmarcnolanx for shipping me this very pleasant surprise! CaptainCougar (5532), Rockville, Maryland, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 20, 2008 Pours a transparent dark copper mahogany with a thin, wispy-lacing off-white head. Aroma of sweet dark caramel and milk chocolate with some bready German yeasty notes and mildly tart esters. Body starts pretty chewy for a dunkler bock with some sweet dark caramely maltiness and earthy bittering hop character toward a toasty malty finish with some lingering milk chocolate and light fruity presence. A pretty authentic and enjoyable dunkler bock. Bov (5514), Bienne, Switzerland

I will update this as soon as I get my hands on this beer again. Cornfield (4977), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 11, 2008 Not bad. It pours a deep amber body with a modest yet sustained beige head. No lacing to speak of. The aroma is sweet and bready with a splash of runny caramel and a wee bit of an herbal/earthiness to it. Kind of light bodied, it has an additional orchard fruitiness to it and the hoppy bitterness, still mild, is a tad stronger to keep the flavor from getting cloying.

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 23, 2007 Bock Ale, Hum, perhaps a strong ale or other name may fit, but what do I know. Clear burnt orange color with a dissipating beige head. Toasted dark bread, with some nuts and light fruit as well. A strong brown ale scent. Sweet in the start with caramel coated walnuts. Middle dries out a touch with lightly roasted nuts. Quite nutty this one. Some hints of herbal hops. Not a bad winter ale. Bock? not so much. BückDich (4857), McCall, Idaho, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Nov 27, 2007 Bottle: Pellucid amber color, light head. The nose is light and toasty, some vague fruit and alcohol. The flavor is a bit too sweet, medicinal with some light caramelly notes in the tail. A thin interpretation.
