I would drink it again, but not worth seeking out, go for the smoked porter. Thanks to MarkR for the brew! Indra (2030), Prairie Village, Kansas, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Mar 12, 2006 12oz. bottle. Aroma is lightly sweet and grainy, very faintly vegetative and malty, a bit reminscent of some sort of pre-sweetened breakfast cereal. Clear medium golden color with a lasting but fine head. Flavor is lightly malty up front, seeing a very small amount of hop bitterness and flavor about midpoint, and finishing sweet and grainy. Palate is lively and a bit creamy, body is light-medium. Airy and light overall. SledgeJr (2961), Omaha, Nebraska, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 2, 2005 Drawn out of the 30-barrel finishing tank for us by the brewer one day before bottling. Amazingly fresh to drink this way, so I suggest that everyone try this. This is an awesome beer that is very underappreciated if the score has anything to do with it. Incandescent gold with a pillowy white head of tremendous thickness. Outstanding fresh grassy aroma mixed with a tinge of hoppiness. Full body for the style. Everything you could want in this category. Balance is superb for a kolsch yeast as this beer lacks the bitter edge that many kolsch yeasts produce. The corn flavor is not apparent to me. Seek out the O’Fallon beers ASAP! tjthresh (1774), Greenfield, Indiana, USA

Very lager-ish. Loads of corny aroma. Crystal clear, with some white head. Low bitterness. Nothing special. Mangino (1027), Mississippi, USA

| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Sep 19, 2005 bottle-pours light orange with a soapy white head. skunky/toasted grain aroma-very cereal like notes. light spice hop notes. grainy flavors all the way with a salt note as well. light spritzy palate. this is a total gateway beer for BMC drinkers, especially since its brewed in such close proximitiy. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Sep 16, 2005 Bottle from Gomer’s Midtown in KC in the middle of June 2005. Basic Lager aroma. Light amber in color. Funny how it’s called "gold" and its actually amber in color. Lots of fast rising bubbles. Small, white head that retains a small layer of head. Not much in the way of lace. Really not a bad beer at all. I can taste the Kolsch yeast, which gives it some uniqueness. There is also a faint bitterness at mid tongue. This is my second O’Fallon beer and the 2nd one I have been impresed with. Has something in the aftertaste that I can’t tell whether I like or not. Some corn notes. Interesting and solid. Aroma has a soapy European saaz hoppiness and a lightly sugary maltiness. Body starts lightly malty with hints of toffee and a nicely balanced bitterness. Very smooth and drinkable and fairly true to style.
