Aroma has a soapy European saaz hoppiness and a lightly sugary maltiness. Body starts lightly malty with hints of toffee and a nicely balanced bitterness. Very smooth and drinkable and fairly true to style. hopscotch (5499), Vero Beach, Florida, USA

Sweet, toffee, butterscotch flavor with moderate bitterness. Medium-bodied with a milky mouthfeel and fizzy carbonation. Short, mildly sweet (but crisp) finish. Kudos to vyvvy for the bottle! | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 19, 2007 Updated: Mar 20, 2007Deep gold, almost brassy in color, with a sustained white head. It has a soft bowl of fruit aroma with honey sweet malt in the background. The flavor if sull of a candy-like sweetness but stops short of becoming cloying. Just a light touch of noticeable hops. This would make a decent Summer drink.

Grass and light pale malt aromas. Very dry and chalky feel. Light grain and pale malt flavors. Not much to this one. bhensonb (4336), Woodland, California, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Sep 10, 2008 Bottle from D&J Liquor in St. Louis, MO. Light amber color with a slight white head. Light malt aroma. Medium body with mild carbonation. Flavor is a little malty, has a touch of citrus, and finishes lightly bitter. An ok drink for a hot day. Not exactly exciting, but likely good with food. heemer77 (4309), Savannah, Missouri, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 14, 2005 The color is a darker and clear gold. Aroma of biscuit and mild apples. There is also some rich allspice here. The taste is rich and bready with some light pears and some very light clove. Smooth and refreshing. Makes a great session brew. More US brewers should make golden ales. BBB63 (4238), La Porte, Indiana, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Jun 16, 2006 12 ounce bottle and served in a standard pint glass: Pours a clean golden hue topped by a small but lasting head and minimal lace. The aroma has notes of grassy and herbal hops, biscuity and grainy malt, note of dry yeast and some apple ester. The taste is a straight forward blend of sweeter malt and light acidic twang with only a dash of bitters. Notes of grain and yeast throughout on the palate. The mouth feel is a tad lively and sprite, a gummy aftertaste. Okay quaffable brew.
