Nice light amber colour with clingy bubbles along the sides of my class, yet somehow lacking head. Crisp smooth palate, but in a new way. A flavor raw and unadulterated as though pure and simple. Overall, O'fallon Gold is quite unique, tasty and keeping tradition without boring me with flare, pomp and circumstance. I find it fabulous. A smooth taste that laste more than most microbrew beers. The hops doesn’t over power the grain and the carbonations is pleasing to the experience. frankenkitty (1902), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 24, 2007 Pours with a rich, copper body holding moderate carbonation and a staunch head... I wouldn’t dub this "gold" as that moniker would position it closer to yellow than orange and that simply isn’t the case. After splitting hairs, I find the aroma to have a candied-fruit quality, with notes of banana taffy alongside some sweet, honey-touched cereal grains. Quite nice, actually. Mildly nutty flavor with sweet grainy notes that take their cues from the aroma. Full, thick mouth. Light hints of fruit, grain & alcohol linger with an ever-so-slight touch of bitterness adding a clean finish. I am totally impressed by such a great effort from what should be a fairly simple beer!

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 14, 2005 The color is a darker and clear gold. Aroma of biscuit and mild apples. There is also some rich allspice here. The taste is rich and bready with some light pears and some very light clove. Smooth and refreshing. Makes a great session brew. More US brewers should make golden ales. gws57 (1137), Saint Charles, Illinois, USA

Light copper pour, a bit bubbly, with a thin white head, sweet nose of fruit and malts. Malty honey in the taste, balanced with some wonderful bitterness. Grainy. Good. I’ve had a few better in this category but this was very nice. Worth looking into. SledgeJr (2961), Omaha, Nebraska, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 2, 2005 Drawn out of the 30-barrel finishing tank for us by the brewer one day before bottling. Amazingly fresh to drink this way, so I suggest that everyone try this. This is an awesome beer that is very underappreciated if the score has anything to do with it. Incandescent gold with a pillowy white head of tremendous thickness. Outstanding fresh grassy aroma mixed with a tinge of hoppiness. Full body for the style. Everything you could want in this category. Balance is superb for a kolsch yeast as this beer lacks the bitter edge that many kolsch yeasts produce. The corn flavor is not apparent to me. Seek out the O’Fallon beers ASAP! Strykzone (1481), Wood River, Illinois, USA

Gold was a beautiful beer in appearance and very nice in flavor as well as aroma. Clean and smooth tasting it was enjoyed with a Cardinal baseball game. Just wish the Cards had won.
